Cant unlock what-if for majin vegeta

the first time I selected, I chose the canon way and continued playing normally, I then went back where I was supposed to press "shake off brainwashing" to unlock the what-if story but the prompt no longer comes up. Things then just continue as normal in the canon story. Is this a bug??

You have to do the Kid Trunks fight without taking much damage, i think the maximum is half a health bar or something like that
