can anyone elaborate how the campaign works? does it play from the moment raditz appears all the way to Jiren? or?

Campaign is tricky in defining that question.

on it's base level it is the 8 fighters going through their versions of the missions.

So that means Goku vs storyline foe or Character X doing the storyline missions which can be rather short or rather long depending on you who grabbed.

If you leave it on the 'easy' difficulty then you can fight every fight and always get the cannon storyline.

That Means if you grabbed Goku you are running down a very long storyline starting from Raditz all the way down to to the Universal Survival story line as Dragon Ball Super Super Heroes... is DLC... and we do not have the Dragon Ball Super Manga foes... And most of the DBZ movie foes or filler arc just seem to be characters and no story lines for them.

The What If storylines need to be faced on 'normal/hard' difficulty in which you get sort of a mixed bag.

For some it kind of sucks... Gohan and Freeza suffered this problem a little. Mostly winning a fight they were supposed to lose gave you a short cutscene with a marker saying you did it with no What If story.

It was really annoying for me when Doing Gohan fir that... but thankfully his What If Storyline was a lot more enjoyable even if I wish I could use the dragons to wish for the What If storyline costume I fought.

Freeza has fights you are supposed to fight, damage the enemy enough, and then sometimes face the 'Shinning Burst Cutscene blast' to move onto the next chapter unless you win.

not really a story its episode battle that lets uplay from start of z but lets u change how things play out depending on your choice to do so for example youcan change it so goku didnt have to die when fighting raditz if u beat him before time limit goku doesnt die and the entire story changes
