Is Sparking Zero a dumb name?

Why is it called Sparking Zero and not Sparking Four? Why not just call it Sparking?

The reason would be very obvious if you at least do a bit of Google.
The first one in the series, Budokai Tenkaichi 1, literally called as Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! They cannot use only Sparking because it have been used before. And no, they cannot use Sparking Four either, the reason would be obvious too if you have do a bit of Google. Literally, the past Sparking are called Sparking, Sparking! Neo, and Sparking! Meteor. They never use number yet before for this series. So in the start of new era, as in this game, they started using the number from 0.

Nope, I do know, its you who don't know and refused to understand. I literally have explained why based on the previous series title, which you haven't bothered to search at all. Unless if you were talking about the localization name, as in Budokai Tenkaichi. While Budokai Tenkaichi did use number, we are on the topic of Sparking title, as in the original Japanese official name of the series, which right now being used as the English title too. Sparking never use number before as I have clearly explained.

Plus the OG game was called Sparking.

In a lot of Japanese series. There is a lot of quotes that mentioned "Start from zero". Its not that weird when they use zero for a series that restarted after being quiet for years. Its pretty much a new start of a of the series, as in a new era for the series.

Not, the next game would be called Sparking One most likely. Since "Sparking" only title have been used for the original Budokai Tenkaichi, hence they cannot use it, and giving Sparking One would be weird. But after starting from Zero as the title, they can use Sparking One as the next one without thinking it as weird.

Op its because of Atari licensing issues as they were the ones that got to name and publish the games over here, so they can't use the Budokai Tenkachi name in NA without paying the Atari fragment that is left for its use, Raging Blast 1 and 2 had the same issue and namco didn't want to pay for the name either back then.

This time instead of Renaming it or Calling Raging Blast 3 they went with the Japanese Name. Which is what they should of done with RB too.

I Guess the reason why they ended up not calling it that is because they want to move away from DBZ.

Though in that case they could have called it Dragon Ball Sparking Super or Dragon Ball Super Sparking.
