Can someone explain me the After Image technique

Hi, it's the technique Kid Goku, Roshi (Base) & Pan can use
I seriously don't understand it sometimes the enemy player charges a ultimate attack at me and my character is vanishing simultaneously like 10 times to avoid it and then sometimes i can avoid 2 times getting and it's over

So afterimage strike is a technique that makes you vanish everything including Supers and Ultimates even explosive waves for 15 seconds from the moment you activate it and somebody tries to punch you or hits you with ki.
The only think it doesn't work against are grabs, ki blast and some perception counters, super counter and sonic sway.

It's a cheese move that alot of players abuse.
