And there we have it. The problem.
It's just broken logic, reflecting of how nobody is ever happy with anything, including both ends of the spectrum (both winning or losing are unsatisfactory for some people).

Then I'm out, I only play base characters

1. Ego problems: If they win once, they do not wanna risk being figured out and lose once, ever. Having two losses is double the ego-damage.
2. Because the ranked mode just does not reward or compel you to rematch. You just take points and run.
This is why Street Fighter and Tekken count a "win" and "loss" best on winning sets that are best 5 (so 3 victories). SZ is questionable with wanting to have a ranked scene but not just seeing the wisdom other games have had for decades.
(before I get accused, up until now, I always click rematch even when I lost twice)
If I decide not to rematch, it's 100% because I didn't have fun with the match.
Pop an instant spark and just spam ki volleys at me until the last second, then ult while I'm mid-stagger from one of the blasts? No rematch.
Refuse to fight me and spend the whole fight trying to back off so you can charge, to the point of losing because you just wouldn't throw a punch without your ult ready? No rematch.
Crutch on one single trick the entire match (like donut spam, afterimage spam, etc) and never push any button that isn't directly related to that trick? No rematch.
Give me a good fight, with a balance of ki blasts, melee, supers, ults? Rematch.
Do something I've never seen before that I want to learn to do, or more likely, learn to counter? Rematch.
Scare the hell out of me and lose at the last second because I got lucky? Rematch.
Beat me within an inch of my life, in a way that was 100% just you being better than me? Rematch.
Lose outright, but you gave it your all and really, truly tried? Rematch.
End of the day, everyone rematches or declines for their own reasons, but mine are always "did I have fun? Rematch. Was I bored the whole time? No rematch."
Lil'bro said everything. Same for me
i see other reasons in this thread, and i dont fit into the 'negative' boxes of experiences. crazy
Yea it sounds like you really play conventionally "acceptable". Not that you or anyone has to adhere to any rules, of course, but it would have explained the lack of rematches. But who knows, if you remember Rick from that other thread, maybe more people playing SZ have all sorts of outlandish things that aren't honorable in their eyes x)
Why rematch, just to, if I win, do it again or give you reasoning to counter against the same person's play style versus another's, more so to prove a point to yourself to justify it was a fluke/[insert cope] that you lost than to actually want a rematch. and the same goes vice versa if I lose and would want to put myself through more of the same when that doesn't help growth, only justifies the loser's standpoint. that's the only reason people want a rematch. Otherwise go the full three rounds even if you lose 2, because if you're going to rematch you might as well use every "rematch" you get even if you lose 2/3 before that last possible match.
