The players number dropped alot
Barely 20k and dropping down fast. Definitely wasn’t worth the hype.

I wonder if it has something to do with the constant communication errors that are stopping tons of people from playing online.

It's just not that good overall beyond graphics. Nothing besides a terrible story mode and episode battles offline, and the online is a cheesefest that is vanish counter 50 times a match with sparking abuse. Game is carried by the name and hype only.

"The best dragon ball game" should not have fallen off so fast, 80% players gone in not even a full month. Tell you it's all hype.

When i checked the last days on steam DB, DB Sparking Zero was the most played 3D fighter game by far. Dropping player numbers for a game like this is just natural and normal. It gets hyped and the fanbase/hardcore is left to play it more frequently. Casuals just drop the game at some point.

well, no wonders, for this dumpster fire of a game. Devs went radio silent, and that is the worst for this kind of lunch at this pricepoint especially. There are 100s of issue, and the most important of all still persist.

It's really strange this game sits at 92% positive yet the retention rate is really poor. Online is a broken mess and single player is bare bones.

Everyone bought it, played it and reviewed it based on novelty. Once the novelty wore off they moved on. Albeit they moved on faster than any fighting game in history including jump force. That could be because it's hard to get the attention of dragon ball fans in the first place. As can be seen with all previous DB games on PC.

Protip; few things rarely are.

Stop buying into hype, stop idolizing influencers/marketing, and think for yourselves.

well.. many people cant play online due to communication errors.. including me.. i have tried all possible fixes. update bios.. port fowarding.. google dns, this is so frustrating,
I even was thinking buying the game again on PS5 so I can play online.. i really love the game, but no way i am giving them more money. FIX IT LAZY DEVS

It's gonna keep dropping as the Single player base moves on.

The games online won't keep people they tossed away out all the Balance RB1\RB2 achieved, and its pure frustration to play online. If your a RB vet a real one that actually played online a ton back in the day, you very much know what I mean.

A big balance patch must happen and chunsoft devs not keeping with their noses stuck in the sand completely wanting to toss out what the Original SPIKE team did for the first 5 games, if namco had any-sense they would hunt some of those OG developers down pay them a ton to balance the game, if they hope to keep selling DLC and have a base willing to buy it.

What kind of stupid mentality.

Do you see that this game is intended to be a "Game as a Service"?

The obvious answer is no.

It does not have weekly events or season passes.

It is a full price game that can be enjoyed at the pace you want, there is no need to connect or play it every day.

The vast majority of people will play it from time to time to entertain themselves, then many will return when the DLC is released.

If you expect a game like this to behave the same as games like Fornite or similar that need to retain players. then the problem is yours, not the game's.

I'm disappointed it's not live service because DLC probably won't do much in terms of player numbers for any significant period of time.

Me personally I'm taking a break because beating rage quitters in ranked and not getting points needs to be changed.
