Is not being able to counter a bug?

Ill make it easy to explain, enemey gets sparking, he hits FROM THE FRONT, I can't block mid combo, or counter, or anything, he gets 3 full combos of sparking hits

you probably dont get the timing right. the timing is different depending on how bad the enemy's connection is, or how bad the PC is from your opponent.
i wouldnt say im a good player yet, but i can counter around 80% of the time when i want to, which i think is completely OK.

the timing is more strict during sparking, my suggestion is to stop spamming up and square/x for a moment and then start doing it again as quickly as possible to match the speed of the punches, the sad truth is though, if your just having a unlucky match and not hitting the timing by chance you'll just get wrecked, which honestly irritates me, i hate when i can go like 6 matches in a row and vanish like crazy, but then against "certain" people i can't land a single vanish, part of me feels like its way to heavily ping based

You can't spam it period or it just won't work, same for taking a pause and going back to spamming (or doing it again as quickly as possible since people go for semantics online). That's still over pressing the buttons and nothing is gonna happen....you couldn't spam in the game before either. It's on a timer, if you spam during the cooldown the timer resets.

Granted the cool down is only one second give or take if not exactly one second, but if you're just going "tap tap tap tap" back-to-back as far as pressing the button combination you're literally locking yourself out of using it. Getting hit from the front even during a sparking rush doesn't even need z/super counter, since I haven't said that yet. You probably aren't holding down the block button long enough or you're holding it down at the wrong time and it won't register. I'm sure you see people blocking your sparking rush mid-combo so it can't be broken you just might be doing it wrong. Why does it have to be a bug versus the more likely reasoning? And it isn't even a problem, that's how you get better you learn, but don't blame the game because you may be doing the wrong thing and may not want to hear that.
