Wild take
If that were the case they'd become pretty much useless because they were recreated by Dende.
With young krillin and the gang before they all got that flying skill. So the gameplay is quite a bit different than everyone flying around the whole time.
They could actually make a good tutorial out of it where they slowly introduce new mechanics for players as their goku character becomes stronger and stronger learning new techniques such as vanishing attacks, dragon dashes, kamehama, ki blasts, etc.
I think that would honestly be an amazingly smart idea to get people familiar with the game without overwhelming them with all the mechanics.
Goku slowly learning every skill and mechanic in the story just like the player would in-game.
I also just really just want a dragon ball story and the characters lol ...
