How many characters and skins will be pay walled?

Level with us devs, how much are you going to nickel and dime us for things that should be in the base game?

Even tho xv2 and fighterz are garbage when it comes to pay walls for characters, bandai namco recently released naruto storm connections, and since that game too has a huge roster i think i may wanna hope for a decent game, like our good old tenkaichis

Have you not seen the state of modern fighting games? They release for $70+ and still have fighter passes and cosmetics you gotta buy.

It may be a lot. But who cares? I only like a few characters enough to purchase different versions of them so the price of buying EVERYTHING doesn't/won't apply to me. For example, if i only like trunks, then all i have to worry about is trunks's versions/skins. Not all 500+ character's skins. I never really understood the big deal about this. If that skin cost me $20 to get, then so be it? i spent more than that on a doordash lunch.

But $20 times 500, adds up to 10 grand. But since i only like trunks in that sanerio, all i pay is $20. No big deal. It's like this in every game now n days, just get what you like and thats it.

(i dont really care for trunks btw) lol

That game is a glorified DLC for storm 4 with a bit of new story an d characters. not worth that 100 + dollars

I am old enough to have grown up with all the previous games, Budokai Tenkaitchi 3 had all the stuff you just said youd buy, but instead of being a wallet warrior, you had to actually play the game to unlock them.

This is what games as a service has done to kids, rotted their brains into just being DLC goblins for corporations who want to nickel and dime all of us for stuff that, in the past was just behind a gameplay unlock like a boss challenge.

That would be very acceptable to me. Yet, I have no hope when it comes to these. I miss fun fighting games that I could spend hours on just messing around, playing against the AI.

true. but i think even money hungry bandai namco knows how much the btk series means to dragon ball as a whole, and i dont think they'll risk locking major characters behind paywalls because of it.

2 months later they'll release a deluxe version that includes all of gt's cast as a dlc

I could be twice your age, giving my kids more of an allowance than your job pays you for all you know. You see how making random assumptions out of thin air is worthless?

Back in reality world, it is MY own money, and it's you who missed the point. I addressed every single point you made, but you completely missed mine. What im saying is that i wasted money on stupid'er things before. Like a 10-piece nuggets combo from mc donalds. There's no issue to waste $20 on entertainment. When you have a "I want everything!!!" mentality, then yes, you will spend way out of the rear-end, BUT I, and most consumers dont have this.

Read what carefully? the single sentence he wrote? slapping what wallet around? The game isn't even out yet, I've spent nothing as of yet. how is spending $20 equal my entire wallet? lol

Realistically, I expect over 30 fighters, to a maximum of 50, base. I also expect over 20 characters to be DLC. no limits on that one.
An ideal would probably be some FreeLC with the DLC similar to xenoverse 2, but that typically doesn't happen with fighting games.

I wonder if the whole game will be online-focused, or if there will be a decent local experience. that changes perception on DLC practices a lot.
