I played all three of the Drawn games series: The Painted Tower, Dark Flight and Trail of Shadows. I was never able to complete the Painted Tower because of a bug, which never seemed to resolve itself. With the Remaster I was able to do so. I cannot say how happy I was to be able to complete a game in a series I truly like. The bonus was chapter was also a complete surprise and enjoyment to play. I absolutely hope that the other two games in this series will be Remastered.

The remaster of this game is beautifully done. It brought updates that truly made the game more of a masterpiece. It addressed some issues, like the bug I encountered in the original Drawn: PT. It added new content that didn't take away from the original game, which can be hard to do. The bonus chapter was brilliantly done because it stayed with the story of Drawn: The Painted Tower and added a new part to the story.

If you are a fan of Drawn I recommend Redrawn or new to this series I recommend both the old and remastered. They are both worth it. This series was made when adventure hidden object puzzles truly great. This is one of those series that are a masterpieces in my book.

I remember hearing about this yesterday and got excited. Having played it and beat both the original and the remaster I can confidently say that this is a good remake and I'm excited to see Friendly Fox to make a sequel if they so choose. Good Game 10/10

It's a decent remake of a fantastic game, but as someone who played all 3 Drawn games once or twice a year, I feel it doesn't hold up to the original. The graphics are better, yes, but I never cared much for graphics to be honest.
The fact that there are difficulty settings made me literally squeal in glee as I automatically set the same for the hardest setting, happy to be able to skip tutorials for a game I've played over a dozen times.

That being said, I felt the added voice acting given to all the characters holds falls flat in places.
Also some of the changes made to the puzzles feel quite lacklustre, such as the growth potion being simplified so that instead of getting and preparing all the ingredients and instead it's with a simple liquid exchange puzzle and three ingredients that prepare themselves automatically. Catching all the bugs for the potion was one of my favourite parts of the early game, and I was beyond confused when the bug net vanished after one use.

In all however, I love most of what was done to the game, and the added content was something I always wanted, having owned the Collectors Editions for Dark Flight and Trail of Shadows.

I definitely recommend this game for anyone who loves puzzles [but maybe also buy the original, since both are superior in different areas] and sincerely hope that the other two are also remade in a similar way.

TLDR: Get the game if you're nostalgic about the 2009 release of the Drawn series. Get it on sale if you've never played the original. You're welcome.

Sooo... I do recommend the game, although if I were to use a star rating, it would be something like 3 out of 5. If you've played the original game, this is going to be a nice nostalgic trip. Otherwise buyer beware.

The visuals are amazing, just as I remember from the original game, with some added content, as you'd expect from a remaster. It does look beautiful when played on a large display (I streamed it on a 4K flat TV).

HOWEVER, what I seem to have romanticized about the original game is the story. Revisiting the game, the story has so much potential in the beginning (just watch the trailer), but falls short quickly after. Seriously, the main plot could easily be turned into a Netflix mini-series for kids/teenagers. Anyway, I bought the game mostly for my girlfriend to play while I sit there useless and watch and all I can say is that 20-30 minutes into the game, she was already skipping through the dialogues just to advance and finish the game. Not a cool experience if you consider the $14 price tag. Currently I could've gotten Cyberpunk or FarCry 5 for the same money... Not to mention that even for a casual player like my gf, you burn through the main story + bonus chapter in 4 hours, including toilet and nom nom breaks.

The "Updated interface and improved hints system" are definitely referenced to the original game published back in 2009. They're the standard Big Fish Games studios UI and gameplay mechanics. If anything, the playtime is extended needlessly by THE LACK OF A F****G map. How do you not include a quick travel system in a HOG with several rooms?! Jesus Christ.

I honestly cannot recommend the remake over the original.

It feels too lacking and unfinished and while some things were made better (Like hints and clarity) most were worse. Continuity errors, (With the witch doctor and broken window), some animations are missing while other useless ones are added making it look cheap and unpolished. Added hidden object sections for some reason, even if the lack of them is what made it better than most other Hidden objects back in the day. Most puzzles were changed and for the worse, some were removed altogether.
The voice acting and animations are also very weird and look off, but this is a point and click hidden object game, so I can't have high expectations.

Overall a lesser version that feels very disjointed and cheap. If you want a more cohesive experience play the original.
But you do have a bonus chapter and new collectables to collect in this

This is everything I could ever wish for, seriously. I was never too fond of the first game in the series - The Dark Flight and the third one are my favorites - but if the remake of that game is so excelllent, I can only imagine how great the next installment is going to be. Fingers crossed.

As someone who finished the three drawn games long time ago, this new version was nice to replay the game all over again. The extra level is nice and provides more depth to the backstory. However, I wasn't fond of the newly added lip-sync and graphics; they seemed somewhat outdated to me.

Personally, I'm disappointed. I never played the original and so was very much looking forward to it, but for a remake of a popular HoG series, it felt quite unpolished and very very short. There's no map, no achievements, and loading between rooms initially feels like the game has frozen or crashed. I did enjoy the hidden object scenes, but felt they were few and far between. The story was ok - not many come to HoG games purely for a deep story, but it was just... ok... by normal standards. I bought it in the sale for £5.49 and I think I would have felt a bit cheated if I'd paid anymore. As such, I'm going to have to pick not recommended.
