Eh, you do get the XP and if you happen to need something for your zero to hero (like the forklift early on) you can do that too.
As far I know the only thing you're missing out on are the bots, faction contracts and getting to team up, other than that it's pretty much just like the 'standard mode'.
I think it's a nice addition, something for those poor souls who are basically ♥♥♥♥ out of luck but can just do raider mode until they get lucky and get some basic or even decent gear for the actual raids.

It's nothing like "standard mode" my dude where'd you get that from? You spawn in with random garbage loot, massively reduced loot pool and a fraction of the people(a good thing imo), raider mode is not interchangeable with the normal mode, you play them in completely different ways.

It's too empty, and the cool down completely defeats the purpose. Supposedly, as you level up the cooldown reduces - however doesn't that just reward long time players over new players? Very strange decision.

I just started playing today and haven't done Raid mode yet but.... it sounds exactly like Scav runs in Tarkov. The idea in Tarkov is that it's an easy way to get free loot, especially when you're broke and have no weapons or money left. When you have nothing left, you can join one of these and quickly extract to keep the basic gear set to take into a real raid. Or loot around hoping to find some good loot before extracting, especially looking for dead players that were not fully looted. It is also commonly used to learn the maps without risking your gear, since you start later in the raid when many players have already extracted, plus the NPC's won't attack you unless you attack them first so you can kind of almost safely run around exploring.
That's how it works in Tarkov at least, not sure about Marauders.

Depends on your point of view, i suppose.

To me it seems like players are meant to run a Raider mode once in a while to help gear back up and to do so in between running regular matches. It's probably set up this way because we are not meant to be constantly running nothing but Raider mode.

Raider mode is a great option when you die early while playing in a crew, you can run a Raider match while you wait for your team to finish up what they're doing (or until they die...).

ive never managed to extract from raider mode. I always have 10 minutes to escape, find a bunch of good loot, then there are no droppods anywhere. I searched the whole map on two seepate occasions. what is the point of it if you just die anyway? Am i missing something? I remember some maps have very obvious drop pods but the maps i get there is just nothing

Drop pods should be in the exact same places as they are when you're on those two maps in the normal mode.

In the mini-mine (mining frigate) they're near the control room on the top level. Look for red lights. You'll see the control room area up above the main floor, it's got windows along the side facing out into the main bay.

In the merchant ship all four pod bays are on the same side, and on the same deck, as the engine and the large trucks. If you can find the ramp (go up the ramp, no pods on the bottom deck) or the fuel and transport trucks then you're close. Two of them are accessed directly from that bay, two are inside the engine room. Again - keep your eyes open for red lights. Drop pods are always near red lights (but remember that red lights don't automatically mean drop pods).

The wiki has maps for both of these locations and they should help give you some idea of where to go. The pods are marked on the mining frigate map, and they're all on the left side (where the engine rooms is located) of the first floor when you're looking at the merchant ship map.
