Hackers in a dead game.
Decided to try this game out again after the 1.0 launch and the first map i load into im standing still and hear this guy run full sprint across the map at me and prefire me as he turns the corner despite me never moving.

Persons name is literally "??????????????????????????????????"

Why hack in a dead game and make even more people quit/kill it further? Fun times.

Yo my guy! Apologies for the experience you had. Please note that we take cheaters/hackers seriously. If you we're able to clip the incident or have a screenshot of your death screen, you may submit a report on our discord server: https://discord.gg/marauders . You may submit it on the #player-reports channel. Cheers!

FYI - The Retribution 1.0 update is not the Marauders 1.0 full release launch update, it's only version 1.0 of that specific update. Marauders is still in early access and still in development.

Many of the major updates have been called UpdateName 1.0 (such as Guilds 1.0 and Retribution 1.0) and the significant patches for them are UpdateName 1.1, UpdateName 1.2, etc. This makes some players think the game itself has gone into 1.0 or beyond when it hasn't since most games reserve v1.0 for the full release and use 0.X for pre-release version numbering.

they don't do much in the way of hackers, me and my buddy just came back after a long period and just died to someone he recognized that cheated before.

I killed 1 AI, and shot at 1 person that wouldn't die, had 3 head shots and 350 dmg, but yet he doesn't die :D, this game has failed the most basic anti cheat measure of making HP server side so a cheater can't have god mode

They don't do much? That isn't true at all. Cheaters end up being banned, usually quite quickly, and remember that not everyone who is reported for cheating is actually cheating. Your friend may have recognised the player's name but just because they were reported for cheating previously doesn't mean they actually cheated, or that they are currently cheating. Plenty of reports about cheating end up being something other than cheating.

This game is a work in progress so bugs, desync, server side issues, hit registration problems, and other issues can be at play here, might make it seem like something is cheating when it isn't. Even the lack of knowledge and experience on the part of the reporting player may be why they think some things are cheating that actually aren't, I recall one person complained about not being able to kill someone who was using a shield, thought they had "god mode" on - but they were shooting the shield which stops all damage.

The end game damage screen isn't accurate, it's got a variety of bugs so you can't rely on it to determine what happened at all. The best thing to do if you want to see what really happened is to record footage (use an instant replay function so you don't have to record huge amounts of footage constantly) and watch it in slow motion a few times. I have done this a lot with my own gameplay, and I have watched other people's footage of suspected cheating many times. Speaking from experience I can state that what you think happened often differs from what actually happened.

Some bots have over 100 health (can be up to 200, and the Red Baron has 250) while players only have 100 maximum so certain bots don't die as quickly as a player would even if you land a few good head shots on them. There's a chance you were firing on a Raider boss bot that has 200 health and may have been wearing a level 9 or 11 helmet which would explain why 2 or 3 head hits didn't kill them like you expected.

im not going to read ur post cuckdilon, I even said I did 250 dmg to him and headshot him twice yet he didn't die, making the god mode ovb, like I said they failed to implement the most basic anti cheat of having HP server side to prevent god mode, have a good day cuckdilion

You should read my post. It explains what could have happened.

You didn't say you did 250 damage and head shot that player twice, you claimed you did 350 damage and hit 3 head shots.

Unless you watched footage of that fight then you don't know if you actually landed those alleged head shots. As noted above the end game stats screen is often incorrect so if you're assuming the numbers there were correct, well...

Do you always argue for the game because if you agreed with the person you know that they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyways and cannot do anything about the situation?

I wouldnt worry about it dude. game is objectively dead and just on life support. when the game had a decent player base (5k+) it was a lot of fun playing with your boys and having active guilds or w.e theyre called in this game. I was part of DNE and still use the tag because i had a lot of fun with those guys.

In the end it doesnt matter what the devs say, when you have 100 players its not sustainable and it will eventually be dropped completely OR sold off to a publisher that may try a revamp.

IMHO this was a great game and i had far more fun here than EFT but BSG has a massive budget , seniority and lots of publicity so this gem gets overshadowed. I will gladly eat my words if / when this game get popular again. to those folks still playing happy hunting!

This is an issue with early access releases in general. It's like an excuse for a game to come out half-baked and featureless. But what it does is drive off a crazy amount of people who will never come back and try it again no matter the work put into it.

I hate just calling a game 'dead'. I think a lot of the consumers simply choose games as a popularity contest or what its on twitch. As you said... this game is mostly "good". Yet no one plays it. For that reason - I don't ever expect a huge comeback, unfortunately. It's just what i've seen throughout the industry for years and years.

However - saying not to worry about it and then being cynical isn't really the response either. You clearly are coming back here and paying attention to this games posts even though you said you moved on. If people just acted right and played games instead of having lost-cost fallacy or spew vitriol in/at a particular game this medium would be in a lot healthier place and it would give more survivability to games like marauders. We don't.

It would be nice to have at least one other extraction shooter on the market that is not Escape from Tarkov. That's all I'm saying. And if you're hacking a game with sub 800 people you apparently like the game enough to play it and population isnt the factor. Youre hacking for purpose usually beyond just ruining others days; though that is part of it. All that is doing is further killing the game.

So the people that hack now either truly just hate this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game and want it to die.... or they like it and are oblivious. No one is going to spend their time hacking in a game this "dead" to not get any justifiable means out of that experience.
