cheaters?

always saw post abt cheaters never ran into one until colony cruiser update. had almost 5 times today where i have level 10+ gear and just get insta killed. i have never been a person to call cheats but has just been getting very sus lately. game needs better anti cheat lmao

Yep, thats how I know when its suspect, wearing good gear, npcs do damage like normal, other players do the same, but then the one taps from lugers while wearing stalhiem is just awful, but its not every match at least. I wonder why no one uses the same type of anti-cheat like MMOs use.

MMO's are usually immensely difficult to cheat in, but people do still cheat. Look up FFXIV world firsts and the camera cheats they do plus the bot callouts so they know exactly when a mechanic is happening in a boss fight

I played Marauders heavily on launch, and just tried it again. Sad to see the game hasn't improved any.

I'm starting to think theres quite a lot of cheaters, that or the balance is WAY off, just had a game where I had 12 armour body, 11 armour helm, full health, instantly killed the second I appeared in front of him. So either the balance is completely crap and armour is literally 100% pointless, or lots of aim botting going on, as this has happened so often today I'm honestly going to start not even wearing armour as it never seems to have any effect on how quickly I die anyway.

at 24 hours you don't have the game sense or knowledge of game mechanics to have any clue if someone was cheating or if it was just an AI.

Cheating has been an almost non-issue since the implementation of denuvos anti-cheat.
I have 1500 hours for comparison, and have seen maybe a dozen cheaters in 6 months and all of them were before denuvo.

you can educate yourself, since i can tell you wont want to listen to what i say.
But basically... the balance is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great lol, you just are expecting your helmet to do the impossible.
You are not intended to take more than one bullet to the head of high cal ammo, and low cal ammo can fire fast enough where it delivers multiple headshots very very quickly in most cases.
Makes sense to me...
I've never met anyone that's lived through being shot in the head, but from what I hear, it's not a whole lot of people, and most of them aren't very good for conversation after that.

it's not that.
it's about not re-peeking, it's about checking corners before you enter a room if you think it's not clear yet, it's about movement and repositioning, outmaneuvering, flanking, or turning on a chasing enemy at the right time to secure a kill.
It's about tactics, and high risk high reward gameplay.

It's actually a trademark of the genre, the exception to the rule being the cycle.

That only really works when the sound works properly though. played a lot of Hunt and while the sound in that isn't perfect its almost impossible to tell where anybody is in this game as the sound is so bad. Makes everything just very random.

the sound is a bit rough, specifically vertical audio can be difficult.
That comes with map knowledge though, because there are measures in place to make sure audio is as readable as possible at all times.
since vertical audio can be confusing, all instances of stacked floors generally are made from different materials so they make different sounds.

A quick example is the rust bucket.
if you run through the top from front to back, you hear metal footsteps and dampened footsteps when you run over the sheets on the ground.
but down on the engine level? run front to back, you get metal sounds, but you also get metal grating sounds, metal stairs, much more variation and thusly makes it easy to tell where they are once you know this.

Ive been killed by the same person 4 times in the past day. Every time he breaches my ship wearing minimal gear and 1 shot headshots me with a pistol. Even though i'm wearing lvl 12 armor and helmet and generally have an assault rifle and shoot him several times. It's the only time i've run into someone in this game that I honestly believe is hacking.

bro, you can say my name, im the 24 hour guy. I don't need 1,000 hours to figure out mechanics and what not, and regardless of your thought on cheaters, the emails from team12 to me saying they ban a list of folk everyday tells me they exist. But its fine, it's not every single match like some people be saying, at least for me anyway. And I don't think AI has names like "twoniggaskissing" either man.

There is definitely a huge cheater problem going on right now. I've seen teleporting. I've seen stacked armor (Or just infinite HP) and insta-kills. Fun game but it looks like it is being ruined pretty badly by cheaters unfortunately.

Guess it's better to wait for an update and then come back to play so it'll be safe (maybe?) for a week or so.

Mate, I've hit top 1% of Solo NA in PUBG, back when it was fresh and region lock wasn't implemented. Also played EFT heavily.

I can recognize a cheater. This game has had issues, and continues to have issues.

You don't run into cheaters. Fan-freakin-tastic for you! Multiple people are stating otherwise, and I doubt a lot of the population no-lifes the game like you do and is on the same skill level.
