Keep in mind that the loot on static corpses and in containers is heavily influenced by RNG so it may take a few matches to find a single hard hat, or you might find 3 in a single match. The hard hat spawn chance is about 7% to 8% in most containers/corpses but certain corpses have a 12% chance for it to spawn.
I think it was a bit easier when it required three M1 helmets. Quite a few bots used M1 helmets (especially in the colony cruiser) and if you were struggling to find M1 helmets you could focus on leveling up to level 10 and unlock the crafting recipe instead.
I did manage to finish this mission fairly quickly but as I mentioned above it depends on the loot RNG. If you're lucky you could find all three in a single match, if you're not it could take a few days.
If you use the official Marauders Discord server (link on the Steam store page) at all you can drop by the trading channel (this will require verifying and picking up the Space Pirate linked role) and see if anyone has what you need. Some players enjoy gathering items for Zero to Hero missions and will happily trade them to you, sometimes you might even run into someone who's willing to just give you the items.
