Does the hit reg feel off to anyone?
I understand armour vs ammo and stuff, but I've dropped some pretty geared player with a couple of shots then laced clips into others while stood still, but some just seem like they don't register at all. Like those miners with the baseball masks on. They tank bullets even in the face and when you loot at the helm, it's hardly taken damage yet took about 10 bullets.

Bullets need some stopping power this game.

I can shoot entire magazine into enemy chest and they just run around like the wind.

I think the shots register but I'm curious how armour and damage locations work because of a one on one fight I had with a player.

I'm pretty sure they had a white M1 flak vest (6 armour), and I'm pretty sure I hit them with 7 or 8 shots from a Luger. I may have missed once but we were so close I think all 8 landed on the torso and left leg (which the vest shouldn't be protecting). That means somehow they survived taking either 168 or 192 damage. If 7 shots hit then the vest absorbed 6x7=42 damage meaning that 126 got through, and if all 8 hit then they took 144 damage after the damage reduction.

Prior to this I had several players and AI die in just a few shots from a luger, or from the MP-40, so this was an odd experience for me. Sure, they may have been damaged and this player might have been at full health, but 126 is a kill, isn't it? If they had on heavy armour then maybe it would make sense, but it didn't look like a half plate or anything bigger or better than a 6 or maybe 7 point vest.

I think players are encountering bots and AI. They have artificial health far greater than 100.

Also different AI enemies shoot each other, like prisoners and security.

You might have not met AI at full health half the time.

Yep, I covered that already. That's why I said they may have been damaged. :steamhappy:

Na, wasn't AI. AI don't give player names when they kill you. Shot someone and it spooked them. They ran into the wall as they wasn't sure what was going on. While he was running into the wall I still managed to hit them with close to 10 bullets. They were able to turn and hit me with less bullets. Didn't add up and I didn't miss lol! But like someone said, could be weird armour calculations.

One time a player (I know he was a player, bots actually do have player names sometimes) was camping me and holding me stuck in a part of the map, and when he finally decided to push I dumped 4 or 5 rounds right into his face and he still killed me because I was 33% hp. My sights were dead center of his head the entire spray...

If you can, record your fights and then look at the clips. Sometimes I found out I actually missed my shots, by literally few pixels. So in full speed it looked like a hit, but under a closer look...

But I'm pretty sure there are registration issues sometimes. Some lag or something, on your screen you hit the other player, but on his screen, you never shot for example. I've had situations like that in Tarkov - I'm yelling "how!? I hit him 5 times!" and my buddy is like "well... you didn't even shoot". Maybe something like that happens here too sometimes?

you're not taking into account latency, if you have higher ping, your bullets might not be fully registering

Monitor your ping as you run around the map (bottom left), see if it randomly spikes, these random spikes are normally packet loss from using WIFI or things like that, or its just a congested line (multiple people using your internet at the same time)

Latency is hyper important in an fps game, if you're sitting on or its higher than 80ms, you'll sometimes not land a shot - and yes, the difference between a 16ms ping and 80ms can equal to the odd bullet missing

if your ping is 120 or higher, you need to check your internet, do whatever you can to try and lower it, 120 and higher is not acceptable for an fps.

I've played quite a bit since my last few posts in this thread and have had some hit registration issues. Sometimes shots hit invisible walls, they fail to pass through things that are open (railings, some grates with WIDE spaces between the wires/bars).

While you're correct about latency I'm usually sitting at 30 or 40 at most. It's sometimes even better than that, so that is not what's going on with me. Now latency doesn't necessarily take lost packets and other desync into account so it could partially be that, but I'm certain that in some cases it's an entirely different issue.
