Target Chicken Clank Minigame

Has anyone else been having a brutal time trying to actually beat the minigame where you smack the explosive chickens into targets? I can hit the targets, but some of them at the end come so fast that before the next chicken clank has spawned I'm out of time.

This is speaking of Whack-A-Clank to clarify. I'd forgotten the name.

I think that you only need to hit 5 of 6 targets to get the record, and in fact I'm not sure that the clanks drop fast enough to get all 6.

It is tricky, but I think the key is to line yourself up straight on with the target, and your whack will be reasonably accurate.

I hit all but the last one and it told me "Nah"

Then you only hit 4, 5 is enough

there's an explosive "item" you can get later in the game that you can also use to hit the targets.

I think it is possible, but you have to "prime" one clank, first, by enabling then disabling the "game" (or leaving a clank on the pad by the end of it), and then playing for real.

For the record, I haven't gotten all 6. I missed one on my final try. But if my aim weren't so horrible (took me close to 3 dozen attempts), I did have the "time".

That's what I did on my winning run: I had one on the pad already, I got my first 5 shots in a row, and the final target was either out or on the way out by the time the last chicken dropped.

Ah, for me, I missed the second to last (if I hadn't missed, I could have gotten it) and got the last one. At that point, though, I had had enough and just stopped soon as I realized that was all I needed.

I'd be curious if it's even possible to get all six, I've whacked them with pretty good timing and the last target always leaves before a last chicken can be lined up. My guess is the last target is there for someone that missed the fifth but still has a chicken handy
