1) Introduction + VBFI mention.
Before starting out with VBHI I highly recommend you check out VBFI(frontier) - it's the first game that was translated into English officially.

The reason I recommend it first is because Venusblood Series are games which stick to 'core' mechanics while improving/slightly changing them each game. This means the further you start - the more complicated the mechanics will look for you. Same for units - gets more cluttered due to nearly all old units always being reused + new ones added.

By studying mechanics in VBFI - you will have no trouble getting used to VBHI.

I made a guide for it as well, which you can check below, making a good summary of mechanics as well as pretty similar walkthrough to this one.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1189440/discussions/0/4052614347231096735/

2) Introduction for actual VBHI.
First of all - quite a few sections of this guide will have information made by Lochinvire from Kaede's Corner discord. (Official discord for Venusblood game series), so cheers for him making the basic information lists.

There is also a guide/walkthrough by Lochinvire if you want to save/load A LOT to minimize playthrough amount needed and get MOST(but not all) scenes unlocked in only 2 playthroughs)
IF you plan to do this - I assume you are not really in the game for gameplay, hence, I recommend picking easy difficulty and just skipping battles entirely.

I personally do not recommend this unless you only care about scenes, hence making my own playthrough guide below to unlock absolutely everything, including every gameplay feature(units/titles/etc) in the most optimal(not too difficult/time consuming/avoiding needless repeats when possible) way possible.

Also it is extremely important to read tutorial on title screen if you did not at least play VBFI before... even if you did though - some mechanics might be new to you, so it's still worth reading

4) Destiny Keys + Guest Unit unlocks
Destiny Keys are an item primarily used for unlocking units for either 10 or 20 keys.
There are 2 types of units for keys:
1) 'Guest unit' - those need to be unlocked(check below) before you can buy them with keys. Once you get them with keys - they become Recruitable normally as well.
2) Normal Units - simply units from usually pretty high Tactica, hence you can get them earlier than you normally would.

When you recruit via keys - you get absolute minimum out of the unit - no bonus recruit stats and no titles, hence it's best not to unlock units other than guests overall.
If you do plan to unlock normal unit though to make game easier for you - the priority is usually units with great skills: Surround Null or Fool's Lie

Keys have chance to drop when winning a fight (you can technically just keep reloading until you get one to get them each battle, but it's not required/recommended as it's too time consuming) OR by beating a chapter(based on grade you get in it)

There is also one trick with keys - if your key amount reaches 999 - you will start getting tier 12 ores instead. This is the top tier equipment ores.

Guest unit unlocks:
Hain, Sheila, Chibi Yilan, Youki, Leona, and Elemia are unlocked upon
entering the Alioth scenario.

Theofrad and Titie are Unlocked by choosing ‘I will reward her with my
strength’ in Alioth scenario.

Youthful Loki and Day Vanilla are Unlocked by choosing ‘I want to
make Anora happy’ in Alioth scenario.

All of the units mentioned above and Lucina, Nanna, Fana, Ullr, and
Loki are Unlocked by completing Deus Hard stage 8 or entering Alioth’s
scenario on hard or above.

Corrupted Ullr, Corrupted Fana, Corrupted Nanna, Hvedrung, Night
Vanilla, and Revia are Unlocked by completing Deus Very Hard stage 8.

Demon Lord Hain, Sacred Shield Tia, Blood Spear Tia, Mad Ullr,
Dimension King Lucina, Conqueror Loki, Heretic Archduke, Mad Fana, Mad
Nanna, and Sallya are Unlocked by completing Deus Thanatos stage 8.

NB: completing Deus Thanatos also unlocks the hard/very hard units.

Now the tricks to actually unlock the guest units:
1. Guest units like all other units are by default 'gacha' along with all other units. Once you hire it with keys once - you can rehire it with Tactica as well.
2. Day/Night has different key pools
3. Maximum amount of one 'class' of units you can have is 42 - this might be important if you are unlocking later on.
4. The trick to recruiting is obviously save/loading, BUT there is also a trick beyond that to improve odds - let's say you want to recruit guest units from 10 key pool during the day - what you do is you save the game, roll the unit, if it's generic unit - you reload and hire this unit normally... eventually you will hire majority of 10 key generic units this way. You can obviously later get rid of those you don't need. This is best done during easy extra playthrough
5. As far as getting keys goes - expect 1 Playthrough to give you approx 50-75 of them depending on your RNG. This obviously assumes you don't bother save/loading each battle.
6. Check table below for where exactly the guest unit you desire is(10 or 20 keys, day or night)

10 Key Day Guest Units: Chibi Yilan, Leona, Elemia, Day Vanilla, Titie, Nanna, Fana, Ullr
10 Key Night Guest Units: Hain, Sheila, Youki, Youthful Loki, Theofrad, Lucina, Night Vanilla, Corrupted Ullr, Revia
20 Key Day Guest Units: Sacred Shield Tia, Sallya, D.Queen Lucina
20 Key Night Guest Units: Hvedrung, Corrupted Fana, Corrupted Nanna, Conqueror Loki, Mad Nanna, Mad Ullr, Heretic Archduke, Mad Fana, Bloodied Spear Tia, Demon Lord Hain

5) Internal Affairs
This is basically a slightly more advanced economy system compared to what VBFI used to be.

Internal affairs menu is accessed from Operation Tab and then selecting internal affairs there.
It's easy to miss at start but is pretty important for nice early resource gain boost.

Internal affair income type/value you get is decided by leader. After that it's further amplified by wisdom value of all members.

Farming - food, Sorcery - magic, Factory - anima, Commerce - gold, Military - exp on day end + unit defense, Medicine - heal end of turn.

Besides that - you can see 'investments' in the menu. Those are one time invests which give you a flat boost towards currency gain(the more expensive the investment the longer it takes for it to give you any value at all)
Max level for those is 50.

You can technically make wisdom squads of cheap units purely as income gain, but the profit is relatively small, so it's mostly min maxing.
Units in divisions 13-36 still give income even though you can't check it.

If you still want some advice - the 3 good early units for this purpose are:
D.Human Kaathe alter version(for more wisdom), Sprite Matango Lady, Undead Ghoul
All of those only cost 1 cheap Tactica you have 7 of by default and are super cheap units. A great extra tactica to add to them is 'secretary' on human one, giving both wisdom and reduced upkeep.
Pair those 3 with some units you already had if they have ok wisdom value.

Prioritize farming early on(while not neglecting other resources too much, I usually kept them on at least half the levels) - more food = more investments into resources = stonks!

Also an important fact about investments is that they carry over in NG+, so make sure to go ham on invest before ending the game

If you start investing early and buy 25k food bundles(to use items click middle mouse button) from equip menu for 50k gold as you get the gold - you will manage to reach most level 50s by end of NG.

For end game min maxing - use empty division slots to reach 750 medicine(cap) and the rest in commerce. This will give you the most coins/recovery.

6) Good Early Units + Unit recruiting explanation

The very basic of unit recruiting is to recruit only when you see a red smiling icon on the monster - it grants bigger stats.
This depends on the day/night and element you are currently on. If you are really desperate to get a unit - yellow is okay too, but try to avoid that when possible.

You can't see a unit you can create until you get at least one of Tactica needed for it at least once... so if you want to see all available units yourself - save then create 1 of each. All units below are actually available from start unless I mention otherwise, but some might require you unlocking tactica other than your 3 starter ones.

Now onto actual unit recommendations:
1. Beast - Cerberus. This one will be your main attacker in Noel beast squad. Has wide attack, meaning it targets a whole column. As well as great stats. If you set it to leader - it gets an extra attack too.

For extra tactica I recommend: Ogre - chaotic(> slot sap squad 4) and Abnormal - bizzare(< slot sap squad 2).. those give negligible penalties and give sap squad, arguably best early skill.

2. Yamato - Yuki Onna
Most notable type - demon.
A unit with non leader sap squad 6, an amazing value early game.
Also has extra sap squad 6 if you set her as leader as well as disabling enemy boosts.
Also boosts ice but you probably can't synergize this too well early on.

Extra tactica - more sap squad, check cerberus.

3. Devil - Gorgon
A sap squad 8 BEAST unit. I recommend altered form of this unit.

Extra tactica - beast boost 6 and and sap squad 2.

4. Devil - Leprechaun
A good unit to set as 'bait'.. feel free to recruit him at penaltied stats(as long as you can insert tactica into him) as well since he is mostly a dummy to be targeted and protected by tank while giving loads of extra ores/reduced unit upkeep.

Extra tactica - Virus(abnormal tactica sap squad 6).. this is heavy stat penalty usually, but since this unit is essentially empty slot, it's big value.

5. Devil - Devil Cook
A great addition to beast team with beast/demon boost at huge levels and demon medic + some immunes. This pretty much works on nearly our whole beast party, huge value.
Downside is it requiring a tactica coming slightly after the game start.
I recommend making this a 'bait' character, since he is not a beast himself and will be lowest stat.

Extra tactica - Virus for stat penalties + sap squad 6 to make it a bait.

7) Party Build core explanations

Game Start/Early Game party build to carry you
I will start with explaining key boosts of early game.

Early game everyone has relatively low stats and not many useful passives overall, hence flat stat boosts/penalties can nearly entirely remove enemy stats or boost your stats sky high.

With that in mind let us proceed to actual parties:
Each party consists of up to 6 units and 1 of them is leader.
Leader decides the formation(boost to certain stuff, read more in game tutorial) AND only leader gets to use the 2 orange skills, which are often pretty strong.

Your 'commander' characters are often stronger than simple units, early on you want to build parties around them. Even one of them is usually good enough to boost your party into being viable if you base it on that unit.

First explanation of how a usual party looks like early on:
Usually early party consists of 1 tank(forward guard + defense formation is the important part to actually tank, survival is not too big of a problem early), 2-3 attackers(based on how strong those are individually) and some support units.

1 of non tank units needs to be a bait on slot 6- someone with lowest HP*Def who will be the target of enemy attacks and hence saved by forward guard on slot 1.
Be aware bait is based on current HP, not max, so pay attention that if your other units are damaged - bait might stop functioning.

Attack units key skills early are usually additional attack and wide/pierce/cross attacks.

Let's start with our 3 commander units:
1,Leon - protagonist. His leader skill is extremely strong early so I would say he MUST be a leader of one of the parties.
By himself he is pretty much an amazing damager unit with wide attack and 2 attacks in total, so boosting him as well would be neat.
The party he starts in consists of very strong units by default and will carry you even if you don't change it up, more on party builds later.

2, Anora - a pure support unit, her leader skills are not too impressive so you can replace them with another leader.
Her heal/barrier/squad attack makes her viable in pretty much any type of squad you can think of.
Default units in her party are still pretty decent, but already on the weaker side compared to

3, Noel - this one is actually an amazing tank unit. Noel is a unit which forces you to build her party as beast one.. and trust me, this party is the one we will be recruiting early game units into will become a REAL BEAST.
Her leader is not bad, BUT I actually recommend one of other beast units becoming a leader instead.

Now onto parties with those units:
When I mention a certain unit to replace in the party - it's likely mentioned in previous section of good early game units, check that section for how actually create those units optimally.

1. Leon party:
His default units are IMO while not great synergy - stronger than average overall due to being higher tier than you can recruit, hence I recommend keeping most.
Your resources are too low to make units for each party so this one will get least changes.
The only new recruit to his party is replacing 6th slot imp with a Devil Leprechaun(taking +6 and +2 squad sap titles).
Since your party is strong by default - might as well take a unit which is serving as pure bait for your tank.

2nd most unsuitable unit in party is bone knight.. it's not a weak unit, but it needs an undead party to work, which we can't really make atm.
I personally swap Bone Knight with Cowgirl from Anora party - Man boost she provides is neat for your main damage dealing machine in this party, which is leon.

Yuki onna is another good option in this slot for Sap squad, but I prefer not to recruit an extra if it's not required myself.

Ops mage is your tank in this party on slot 1.

2. Anora party:
The units in this one are still pretty decent by default, but make no synergy with Anora.
Due to anora being a squad booster, it doesn't matter how exactly you build the team.
But I like building a mechanical team as units for it are pretty great.

Be aware that none of those units are in 'good early unit' list above, since it's one of many ways you can build Anora party, hence I will describe them here in depth.

The reason I am even going mechanical party is because the best tank recruitable is mechanical.

Slot 1 - Ersatz Gargoyle as tank. Make sure you set it as leader for Forward Guard. Bizarre extra tactic is great for it - gives defence and sap squad 2.

Slot 2 - D.Human Goblin Smith - a nice synergy with other party members, super cheap unit, is red faced during Cerberus(party 3 main unit) recruit turn, hence optimal at start.
I recommend using altered form with him and taking Chaotic/Bizarre extra combo.

Slot 3 - Anora.. mostly a support and mostly there for squad boost 15.

Slot 4/Slot 5 - Soldier Cannoneer + Merc Siege Trooper - both are near identical and your main damagers of this party, havewide attack hence if you take more additional attacks - it will be a machine of destruction.
Cannoneer is slightly stronger/more expensive, Siege Trooper is a bit weaker but cheaper.
I recommend making them with only slow multihit Tactica if you can't afford slow multihit + bizarre. Those units are pretty expensive.
Slow multihit works in a bit weird way - your base speed will be 1, but boosts end up giving speed directly from 1(not below) and you end up with good speed value anyway.
Both units get good attack boost if altered.

Slot 6 - D.Human Kobold Engineer, your only non mechanical unit, hence your bait.

3. Noel party:
The units you get by default in this party are mostly absolute disaster hence you want to replace them ASAP.

Noel is a tank and her party should be built around as a beast one.

This squad uses the 3 of the good early game units(cerberus/gorgon/devil cook) I described more in depth in early game unit section.

Slot 1 - Noel, she can tank for you and she won't die early ob.

Slot 2 - Ratatosk, it's not amazing unit but you start game with it(it's on 2nd party by default) and it fits the party.
Replaced by Lynette commander unit rather Early

Slot 3 - Devil Gorgon. A semi tank beast with sap squad 8.

Slot 4 - Beast Cerberus. This unit is what activates your beast party as your main damage dealer. Amazing stats and making it leader gives him extra attack.

Slot 5 - Nekomata, this unit Tactica comes a bit later but is a good fit with extra utility value.

Slot 6 - Devil Cook.
Can't recruit this instantly, but it's a great support unit who is not beast while boosting beasts/demons, which is all of our units.

Those 3 parties are enough to carry you for quite a long time. Once you start feeling a need to expand - try to follow approximately same rules - units need to synergize for the boost X and sap squad play big role..

MID GAME
In mid game, chapters ~3-8 nothing much changes except you get more girls and need to start using at least 2 divisions to win most battles. Can't just win 1vs3 as easily.
Utilize the new girls to make synergetic parties. At least 1 party you will make on top of what you got is probably demon party.
The priorities are still to make parties with boost squad/sap squad/boost X(race you plan to synergize) while having attackers with pierce/wide/cross and additional attacks for maximum value.

Your tanks might need to actually survive too. main tank survival is hardy physique/slayer def.

Something of note - you might want to 'rehire' certain units once their loyalty reaches 100.. this raises their stats by turning triumph into 100 and also allows you to pick better tacticas.
Becomes much easier to get stuff like bigger value squad/type boosts/saps and additional attacks with no penalties.

END GAME:
This is jumping A LOT of the game, I am doing this mostly because the border of mid game and end game is kinda.. shallow.. you simply have to slowly start taking end game skills.. the further you go - the more important it is to have more of them.

Here are key end game skills:
First of all terms I use: Battalion = 3 squads, squad = 1 team of 6 people, TH - treasure hunt, HS - helmet split, DS - dimensional slash
General purpose skills:
1. Fool's Lie/Terrain Null - those are battalion wide skills... you need one or the other in battalion.. Fool's lie counters enemy fool's lie.. I recommend at least fool's 4 end game to use it at all(stacks if you have it on SAME unit via multiple sources).. otherwise just take terrain null. The reason is how fool lie interacts with enemy.. let's say you have fool eye 4 and enemy has fool eye 1 - you will have fool eye 3 instead and enemy will have 0.
Terrain null disables all terrain advantages/disadvantage AND fool eye for both sides.
If you use fool's lie - troop carrier on squads is neat bonus.

2. Surround null - this is a summary skill of pierce+wide(OR cross)/all null. A must in every squad.

3. Spell/Shelling/Self-D barrier 100
Those 3 are needed on every squad to prevent magic damage and self destruction of enemy.

4. Absolute cure
On every squad- prevents debuffs/conditions

5. Stat boosts - nice as filler.

6. Strat Barrier/Hinder - nice for mitigating dmg/disabling enemy strats, not absolute must.
Strat Sup/Boost morale - squads where you spam tactic skills, a must for battalion with TH to revive it.

TH team and grinding
TH formula:
(enemy lvl + total TH) * (enemy max cost of unit + amount of units you kill up to 6 max) = final value.
The Minimum Drop is half of your TH value.
For example - your final TH value is 25k - this means you have chance to get T12 ore BUT you also have chance to get items as low as T9(12.5k required)
You need 24k for T12 ore to start dropping..
27.8/29.7/32k for low/mid/high t12 equip directly.
B5 thanatos levels are approx 300-350.. as for costs.. end bosses are 30-43 cost. Strategy is usually leaving only boss alive and beating at least 6 other units and ending combat.. repeating until you are done with all divisions.
Max TH value with best items/titles is:
Chibi Yuran(guest 10 key) + Mini Elea(1st play for us) + Luna(yamato) + Alchefairy(ersatz) + Pandora(ersatz) + Amaterasu(yamato)
Elea leader.
After 1st play you will only lack pandora/amaterasu - those need tactica. As well as best Tactica titles for SS growth units.
Good early replacements are: Mimic(Ersatz), Dream Onikage(Hero) and Amy/Dorothy comm.

ONLY HIGHEST TH SQUAD IN BATTALION WORKS! TH members need to be alive end of battle.. that's usually done by mass revival last turn OR actually making TH with some survival(sacrificing TH)

Damage dealer Strat
1. To deal any damage at all you need HS 80 as a minimum.
2. For non evade enemies - DS 75 is another must(or as close to 75 as possible). DS is immune to counterattacks and can't be nullified as well, meaning it won't die no matter what.
DS users profit from flank atk to pierce evade.
3. For evade enemies - melee attacks are required, meaning no DS.
This means you die to counterattacks, hence you need survival - counter resist+hardy OR parry(parries non crit counterattacks)+crit resist OR Dragon scales + slay def/hardy + max power
4. Add attack + X - as many of those as possible.
5. Wild Fang- extremely strong extra.
6. Max power - nice for dragon scale damage negation.
7. Slay Wraith - you need it via either slay all OR lethal crit title. Otherwise you deal 25% dmg to them. At least a few damagers need this.
8. Crit + Lethal crit is nice BUT only if unit is already having it or has nothing else he can build up of the above options.

Tank Strat
This is where big changes are.
Old strategy was usually 1/6 tank/bait.. but here it's not tanky enough and you will die.
Godly physique can be 98, hardy can be 90.. but it's very hard to reach godly 98.
Only the highest value out of those counts, so godly is almost always bad for tank when you can only reach under 90 due to it being less values on items/titles.

Hence new strategy is usually:
Tank+Bait 1/4 with bait having evade ~130-150 total stat.
What this does is it allows you to lure all range/DS attacks onto bait and tank is only hit with melee.
OR if tank has forward guard - you can do 1/2 Bait/Tank, which is better since it works better against ambushes.
Day/night+element affects stats, keep that in mind when creating bait.

Skills for this strategy:
1. Tank - hardy 90, slayer def 100, night attuned are a minimum. Vampire attack or dragon scales help mitigate chip damage. Parry/crit avoid are not bad too.
Forward Guard is nice to do 1/2 bait/tank setup to avoid ambushes a bit
2. Bait - lowest def/HP proportion out of all units, evade 130-150(to negate flank evasion remove and formation evasion remove)
3. Flank Null - required for melee attacks to not hit bait.

All things considered your main vulnerabilities with above attack/utility/tank squad setups:
1) Poison magic - just gotta bear through it or use undead.
2) Evade units - I recommend at least 1 squad damagers being 'melee'(no Range or DS) to actually hit those pesky evade units.
Make sure to set this squad against the enemy evaders obviously.
3) Melee units survival - since melee units are not immune to counterattack damage they can easily die to it.

Extra end game setup options:
1. Godly 98 tanking with Vanguard Honor as 1st squad.
Godly 98 can be enough to actually tank 3 squads worth of melee attacks.

This removes the need to use tanks in squad 2-3, only using the evade bait and flank null(and other utility like barriers/nulls) in those to make sure your evades absorb all ranged attacks.

2. Similar to setup 1 BUT with hardy tank and Rampart Formation(HS penalty to enemy) - less HS=damage on your tank becomes less=it becoming viable to tank with Vanguard Honor setup.
The way formation works is it takes square root from your leader stat and reduces certain skill with that.
Rampart formation scales from def.
All 3 squads need to have Rampart since formation only affects 1 squad.

3. Parry + Crit Resist tank - this is a tank that relies on surviving by blocking melee attacks with parry and reducing enemy Crit chance with Crit resist.

4. Self destruct setups.
1st squad is full of self destruct units, ideally with recovery skill(reincarnation) + vanguard honor.
2nd/3rd squads are usual BUT at least one of them focuses on Strat skills and has Battalion revival to spam revive the 1st squad.

8) Short ending summary + requirements.
Alioth Scenario: Law+Chaos>=50 before the end of chapter 4(early 5?). Can access as early as chapter 4.
This is not exactly an ending/route, but more of an extra scenario you can participate in. It is pretty hard on NG, so normal difficulty is more suitable to beat this on NG for newbies.

Law Route: Sylvia isn’t Awakened (Affection >0 and Training <5)

True Law Route: Law>=50 and Sylvia and Anora have >8 Affection each

Chaos Route: Sylvia is Awakened (Have Awakened Sylvia)

True Chaos Route: In Alioth scenario, must choose ‘I will award her with my strength’ (triggers Fallen Angel Luseli scene).
All Dark Lords must be Awakened but not Altered.
In ‘The Selection of a Sacrifice’ you must choose ‘Sacrifice the people
from each country’
During the intermission after ‘Road to the Sanctuary’ Event Battle, must
choose the scene ‘These Lovable Women’
Unlocks the Extra Scenario ‘Another Iris’ after the Divine Comedy Mission.

9)Playthrough explanation/introduction:
The playthrough I will provide will consists of unlocking absolutely everything in the game, which means not only scenes but also the units/forms/titles.
Some units require playthrough inherit and limit your other options, hence extending amount of plays you need.

The core order of our playthroughs will be:
Law Norm > Chaos VH > Extra Law Easy > Chaos H B5 > True Chaos Thanatos > True Law Any > Deus Thanatos

Law plays nearly identical and it's very easy to get everything from it in 3 runs - there are 2 anora characters in law/true law and 1 extra Julia character all needing a carry over.

Chaos has a lot of annoying stuff/conditions, you MUST follow the exact way I do it or it might take more than 3 plays to get everything unlocked.
The way we unlock stuff in chaos by playthrough:
1) Harem End(goal 1, chap 8 replay/reload), Tsubame Character(goal 2 + finish), All girl forms aside of Tsubaki Mad. LEON MUST BE BASE FORM.
2) No girl awakened full Riot scene(goal) + Tsubaki Mad Form
3) True ending, Fallen Angel Luseli, Alter harem

If you want to get everything with no error - you have to follow the playthrough to the letter!

10) NG+ details summary:
What stays:
Loyalty/triumph, Items, units and their levels(assuming you agree to keep them), titles..

What does not stay:
Resources.

You can choose which form you want out of those you already unlocked before - fixed forms will make you stay as that form for the entirety of playthrough BUT you won't be able to unlock other forms in that playthrough. You want to be in base form to get new forms.

Game Mode:
Deus is no story 10 map mode that is more challenging than story.

Inheritance means keeping your units/items - no reason not to choose this.

Custom game:
0 reason not to start with 1m gold/magic...
Atheism mode is a choice of disabling tactics use for everyone. Race limited is another extra challenge which limits you to one race only.

Difficulties:
Very hard/Thanatos are new difficulties - they offer more challenge by changing the setups enemy uses into much stronger ones and their levels are also slightly higher.
I would say very hard is approximately normal mode of NG+ and thanatos is approximately hard mode of NG+... although for first NG+ thanatos might be a bit harder depending on how well you did during NG.

Berserk level - each berserk is +20 levels per tier up to +100 levels.. but teams remain same.. minimum difficulty is hard during berserk.

11) Getting Everything Unlocked Walkthrough

First Playthrough - Law Normal Difficulty playthrough

So you are about to start a New Game, on 1st playthrough the only meaningful settings you can select are difficulty and Element+Day/Night.

As you can see for difficulty I recommend Normal as it's a good balance between being able to learn the game while having fun and challenge.

It's up to you to try hard if you want, but I advise against it as it's entirely possible you might fail as a new player. Another reason is a special scenario you need to beat, which is extremely hard on NG even on normal if you aren't sure what you are doing.

As for day select - I recommend Fire + Night. I have prepared first 3 parties for you in section 7 of the guide that will help you early on and will advice step by step turn per turn on how to build those parties.

Make sure to read section 7 for exact details of party creation - I will only mention short summary here.

Once new game is created - you are in the scenario select menu, this is where you select the events to participate in, the war council is where you can do some things like swapping very easy/easy/normal mode at will and recruiting some units if you meet conditions.
It is important to note that you should not visit war council(or any other event I don't mention) until I tell you so because it might cause issues with walkthrough as it consumes a turn

CHAPTER 1

Black Ops
This throws you directly into first combat scenario.
In this combat scenario I will guide you step by step to make the initial 3 parties. You can obviously make your own, those are just advice to make your early life easy at start without need to read through every unit - to follow it or not is up to you.
After this combat scenario I won't guide you in combat anymore and I will instead assume you will read mid/late game short recommendations in the end of section 7 and make your own parties.
As you get more commander units and equipment choices - possibilities of what you can do are nearly limitless.

Turn 1(Fire Night): Go to Operations and invest farming to be lvl 4 and other investments lvl 3.

Recruit units:
Leprechaun devil(green face is okay, he is bait) with virus + bizarre extra tactica.
Cerberus Beast with bizarre + chaotic
Cannoneer Soldier alter version with slow multihit
Goblin Smith D.Human alter version with bizarre + chaotic

For final unit positions check section 7.. for now the party is not full anyway so it's not too critical, you will faceroll enemy anyway.

In 3rd party - set Cerberus as party leader.

Do not disband useless units unless they have 1 Wis - instead make formations with highest internal affairs skill(ideally farming or commerce 16+) and throw everyone there.

Make sure you deploy your 3 main divisions by double clicking them.
After that skip turn.

Turn 2(Water Day):
Recruit:
Kaathe alter version with extra secretary tactica for cheap big wisdom internal affairs unit.
Gorgon Devil alter with Bizarre + Beast Tamer

You can't swap units into deployed squads so those are just preparation now.

If you click on town - you can drag the divisions to change their order.
This is important if you select multiple for brigade battle.
Squad 1 always fights against Squad 1 of enemy and so on. Your squad 2/3 will be almost untouchable if enemy only has 1 squad.

For the sake of minimal losses I recommend splitting it this way:
Cerberus party goes Fort Gala > Midar pass on next turn
Leon party is 1st and is paired with Anora party as 2nd and doing Nador Plains > Chaouen next turn

Turn 3(water night):
Don't forget to keep upgrading investments with food.

Attack 2 territories again.

Recruit Gargoyle Ersatz with Bizarre + Chaotic extras
If you can afford them while saving at least 2-3 more empty Tactica for future - recruit 2 cheap units for internal affairs:
Matango Sprite > Ghoul Undead - both are super cheap, make sure to insert secretary extra into them. But again, make sure you have some spare medals left, those are not too important.

Turn 4(wind day):
Conquer Minel Tower with only your Leon party.

Now the trick is - you can insert a squad back to city any time if it still has action left. This enters the squad into 'lobby' from which you can deploy it into any controlled city.
Teleport out the Anora + Beast parties to edit them with units you recruited for them so far.

After you are done editing parties - redeploy them on Minel tower. You can also directly teleport a unit from one town to absolutely any town under your control too by using up a turn.. will be more important later when you don't need to edit your parties.

Also don't forget that in battles you get equipment. There is nearly 0 reason not to equip at least something on your units if you already have the equips anyway.

Turn 5(wind night):
Simply conquer the final town, make sure order is Leon > Noel > Anora parties.

This concludes the battle event.

Decision Time- pick 'interrogation time' + 1 law: - I will only tell which option to pick unless there are multiple interesting ones or if there is scene behind second one.
If you wish to - save the game and watch the other option before reloading the game, but this is not needed unless I mention it.

Pure White Will
Another battle - use what you have learned so far, shouldn't be hard if you use the early teams I provided.

If you are on turn 6 - you can recruit:
Kobold Engineer D. Human with virus + bizarre
Siege Trooper Merc alter form(I recommend with slow multihit + bizarre
Also don't forget to insert the new commander into your beast party.

The only units you are missing now are Devil Cook and Nekomata until your parties are done. Both will want beast boost +6 and bizarre.

This is where I end my help towards the exact party builds. From now on - use knowledge you got so far and the general guidance in section 7 for late game/higher difficulties strategies.
You might notice how the Anora/Noel parties are slowly starting to dominate over Leon party - that's pretty much what a well planned party vs just random strong units is like in this game.

Two last things I will mention are:
1) Notice how units have loyalty/triumph. Triumph = Loyalty upon recruiting something. This is a stat boost.
Basically what this means - you might eventually want to rehire the unit you plan to keep using.
The Tactica extras also drastically improve as you go further, for example Yamato(which you need for nekomata) gets added attack 1 extra with nearly no penalty.
2) On normal with those parties you will have pretty generous amount of time to S++ early on compared to how easy battles are, so you often can chill skip a turn or 2 for more resources and still end up S++.

Eater of All
Final map battle for Normal law route, which we will stick to this time.
Since it's essentially last fight - it's the best time to use up all your resources as resources will be gone after the NG+ - gold can be invested into other resource items.
Also a good time to recruit units you want as what you currently can recruit will stay with you all the way until we beat next run chaos for final 3 tactica.

Also feel free to try and gacha some guest units out of x10 destiny key pulls to further help your next run, read more in destiny key section.

The choice you get after this fight is what determines Normal/True ending.
This time we will pick Shout Her Name - normal route.
This puts you into final sortie battle.

The choice after that is either sticking to Anora unit unlock(the one we aim for with this playthrough) OR other girl endings.

MAKE A SAVE FILE TO RELOAD IN SO YOU CAN PICK ANORA UNIT ONCE YOU ARE DONE WITH OTHER GIRLS!

First choose 'Let's Meet Again Sometime' which leads into a choice of girl to end with...
Simply save/load to watch em all.. you should have 9 girl endings available.(8 main girls + Noel)

Once you are done watching all 9 girls(finale is simply picking no girl and insantly going to NG+ screen - useless) - reload to Save file we made before and choose 'You are not alone anymore' and carry over that into NG+.

If you didn't already - make sure to go to settings and set 'skip already read text for next playthrough as you will be seeing a lot of repeats from now on otherwise'

Second Playthrough- Chaos Very Hard
Chaos would be extremely complicated and need loads of runs if you don't plan it out.. but if you plan well you can just barely fit everything into 3 runs.
In this playthrough we unlock: Tsubame + All forms(aside of tsubaki alter) + harem ending.

We also unlock all except last Tactica. Very hard means we start with 10 law/chaos, so +20 to tactica unlock. On very hard you finish on 110-111. Meaning thanatos will push you to 115+ for final one.

NB:
MAKE SURE TO SELECT LEON BASE FORM TO UNLOCK HIS DARK GOD!
Playing on Thanatos allows you to unlock all tactica and it's certainly doable, so I will leave it to you to decide, but I assume you will take an easier way for the sake of walkthrough so people not yet confident in their teambuilding can still move on.

From this playthrough I won't mention what stages have battles and such anymore.. also won't mention that if you want to - feel free to check options we don't pick with save/load because we likely won't see it again.

Save/Reload watch all awakened form + harem ending scenes - King's Feast(harem) > Two Dark God > Empress/Knight > Princess of Debauchery > Docile Doll > To Eternity > Drowning Princesses

RELOAD!

Select 'Sacrifice Dark Lords'
This is the option we will stick with for a 'run finish'

All girl pairs have 2 scenes here aside of karvia/celes who only have 1.
2nd scene is mad forming them.(1st for karvia/celes)
Tsubaki has an extra 3rd scene for a new character.

Start with Tsubaki, save and watch her army of beasts second scene first. Then reload.
Now you can take Ambitious Merchant as Tsubaki 2nd scene and give tsubaki away, getting Tsubame instead.
Fully watch all other scenes to get all mad forms and scenes done.

Now play/finish the game normally, before you go into battle stages - go into war council and add titles to most of your extra commander units.
Stage wise - all is same as when you were going for harem end except now feel free to edit teams and play seriously as we will carry to NG+.
Select 'She who shares my soul' for Anora title.

Don't forget to spend remaining Anima/Gold during final sortie.

Third Playthrough - Easy/VE Law
Now that you have seen almost everything in the game - you can start going much faster since you know how story goes and can pick events almost blindly.
We will start with unlocking Bride Julia.

For difficulty take Easy or Very Easy.
MAKE SURE TO TAKE BASE FORM OF JULIA + LIESE JUST IN CASE FOR THIS ONE.
I recommend easy at start to max out loyalties of all squads you want to use while recruiting things you want.
You also have most 10 destiny key pool guest units available by now, so feel free to get them, some are very good. To remove destiny key gacha odds for guest units - make sure you recruit all 10-20 cost units.

If you didn't grab all the 'peacekeeping' mission scenes - feel free to finish them here.

Once you are done recruiting/loyalty upping - go to war council and set game to very easy for entire map skipping if you feel like.

To get Bride Julia - you need to follow Law playthrough(chapter 1 not brainwashing sylvia) BUT you need to Awaken Julia(corrupt her) while ending up on 11+ Aff of Julia+Liese.

For that simply select Archlond first > watch event 'Fusion' and select 'destroy their minds if you have to' > Grab all the scenes with Julia/Liese in same way you did in Chaos(as a rule of thumb it's always the 'bad' option to get negative affection until you invert affection) and then rush the game doing only main plot.
Feel free to skip extra scenes aside of julia/liese scenes and take Mason during Archlond by telling Hamud you will handle stuff yourself.
Songstress event is the Aff invert for Liese from which you want +Aff already. Dragon bride awakening for Julia. After which you will have 10 Aff total with them. Find another scene with them later and you will be 11+ easily.
BEFORE picking chapter 5 'orgiin' main mission you need to complete Burckhardt Remnants Survey > 2 ruins > Fresh Breeze >3rd Ruin or game will end on chapter 5
You can do them last moment, so don't worry about it too much.

Make sure to conclude all your resource spends/party changes as usual on last Vergius map.

After the final sortie - select 'Let's meet again' > Drowning Princesses for an extra swimsuit honeymoon scene with Julia.

Fourth Playthrough - Chaos - Hard B5
This time we are going for berserk 5 hard difficulty(minimum on berserk) to get commanders for berserk completion.
Feel free to take your favorite forms(check section 12 for my form information) for everyone aside of tsubaki, whom you keep in base form.

You can make a very good TH team for equip farm, read section 7 for details.

Short summary of requirements for story segment:
Sylvia awakened, Dark Lords NOT awakened.
It means taking 'corrupt' choices for Sylvia then skipping other scenes entirely.
Mini story before origins in chapter 5.

On chap 8 - sacrifice the people. Near the end select event 'the day I swore vengeance' for karvia/celes titles.
Complete map on day so you fight sortie boss on night.

What you unlock: riot scenes for dark lords not being awakened when sacrificing people, mad form for tsubaki/ayame, karvia/celes titles.

Fifth Playthrough - True Chaos - Thanatos
This one is Thanatos, don't forget to set berserk to 0.
From this play you are free to select any form, you have them all unlocked.

Add some berserk commanders - iris/celias/orga are all pretty amazing, magach is not too bad either. Thanatos AND true route is another small step up in difficulty, but shouldn't be too much and only on the true route maps.

Playthrough is exactly the same as playthrough 2 of chaos, the only difference is that we choose 'strength' option in Alioth scenario.

What we will unlock:
Last Tactica(115law/chaos), True Chaos ending scenes, Fallen Luseli, Alter Harem ending

When you get to chapter 8 SAVE around sacrifice choice and do NOT overwrite it.
Get into true ending via sacrifice people > Out of event pool choice once you reach it - take 'these lovable women' once you finish normally final map - a choice will be present, where you need to select 'another iris' event.
This will unlock 1 extra map + sortie. We are only going for true ending for the scenes and will reload after, so spend items/resources like crazy. For true ending as usual - finish map during day for a night sortie.

Once done - Reload and proceed into dark lord sacrifice, make sure to alter all dark gods including Tsubaki this time to get 'a world painted black' alter harem end choice
This gives 115+ Law+Chaos for last tactica(117 is likely what you will end up on), which you will inherit for NG+.

Sixth Playthrough - True Law - Any
Only scenes you miss now are law page 5 true ending ones and 2 on page 9, 1 is white maiden anore we will get and one is the 'extra completion' scene you get when you unlock every other.
The only ones you might have missed if you were following walkthrough are scouting mission ones on page 10 if you were not diligent about claiming different ones.

You can play true law on any difficulty.
Improving gear without pushing it too hard? Thanatos is good choice.
HEAVILY improving gear but risk losing entirely? Try Thanatos b5.
Just getting the unlocks? Go for very easy and instant skip stages.

However you do it - make sure to choose your favorite forms and repeat the playthrough in the exact same way you did the 1st one.
This will allow you to reclaim all titles, finalizing the triumph and best skill combo on your favorite form. Check below for my suggestions on forms.
Speaking about titles - now that you have won thanatos you can unlock absolutely all titles for all commanders in war council. The only 2 characters without titles are divine nachtu and rampaging celias.

Play according to playthrough 1.
During the final choice on chapter 8 this time choose 'Reach out for her' to get into true law route.
It's only 1 map, after it - save game, first watch 'a witch's bliss', reload and finish game on 'a place to go home to'.
Now you should have 419/419 scenes - you can watch final special one on page 9, it's above bride anora one, called 'talk for another day'.

Seventh Playthrough - Deus Thanatos
The final unit unlocks. There are a lot, most are the best in the game.
Deus Thanatos is harder than story thanatos but it's doable just fine.
You only need to beat stage 8 and select 'finale' instead of going into stage 9 to unlock all units!

Optional Playthroughs
Unlockable wise - you did it, you now have absolutely everything in the game both scene/unit wise.
The only challenge remaining is deus thanatos b5 if you want to test your teambuilding skills to the limit. Before this you might want to farm t12 gear via story TH team usage. Best way to do it is true law thanatos b5.. with 500+ treasure you will get good odds of t12 equips by save/loading on the final boss.
The way you grind is - save game, defeat 2 squads surrounding the boss, retreat, see if you get t12 gear, if not - reload.

It's also important to note that once you did your 'final teams' - make sure to deploy everyone and use item to reset leader link, this is free extra stats once you do 10 battles and new leader becomes the linked one. Also you can use those extra stats to further tinker with unit you want to be a 'bait', making it the only one without leader link.

12) Unlockable list for units/titles + MC FORMS + TITLES LIST:
Thanks to Lochinvire for the unlockables,
This list is not required if you follow walkthrough,

Units:
Courtesan Sylvia: Sylvia has 7 Training (No more, No less) Affection is <2 (Negative values count as <2) 10+ Chaos

Cheerful Gal Sylvia: Sylvia Affection >=4, Sylvia Training <5, Law is 15+

Dragon Kitty Liese: Julia has 4 Training (No more, No less) Julia Affection <2, Liese Affection is <2, 15+ Chaos

Fairy Dragon Liese: Liese Affection >=4 Julia Affection >=4 Law is 15+

Fallen Angel Luseli: In Alioth scenario, must choose ‘I will award her with my strength’ (triggers Fallen Angel Luseli scene). Chaos is 30+ at the start of Chaos Chapter 8

Mini Mad-Scientist Elea: Elea Affection >=4, Elea Training <4, Law is 15+

Innocent Onmyou Ayame: Ayame Affection >=4, Ayame Training <3, Law is 15+

White Maiden Anora: In Alioth scenario, must choose ‘I want to make Anora happy’ and finish True Law Route with Anora Aff >=10

Eternal Promise Anora: In Alioth scenario, must choose ‘I want to make Anora happy’ and finish Normal Law Route with Anora Aff >=10. After the final boss must choose ‘You’re not alone anymore’

Tsubame: Must view either of Nazuna’s scenes. Tsubaki must be Awakened.
In Chapter 8, choose to Sacrifice the Dark Lords and have at
least one additional Dark Lord Awakened. Choose Sacrifice Tsubaki.
Scene An Ambitious Merchant will appear. Must be
viewed before other Dark Lords have been Sacrificed.

Dragon Bride Julia: View Awakened Julia’s Ending on the Law Route.
Julia+Liese Aff 11+

Doris, Geisel, Nachtu, Alioth, Goddess Sylvia: Beat Easy-Thanatos

Cursed Magach, Hamud, Earth Dragon Duke Orga, Rampaging Celias, Iris: Beat Berserk 1-5

Kuzunoha, Divine Nachtu, Vergius: Beat Deus Hard-Thanatos stage 8.

Beating highest difficulty(Thanatos/b5(any difficulty)/deus stage 8 on thanatos is enough to unlock all the characters in that bracket)

Mason: In Ballad of the Princess event, choose the bottom option ‘Figure it out yourselves’ or any choice after watching both chaos/law any ending once.

Kaya and Shinra: Law Route Chapter 6 Tsubaki extra scenario.
Requires you to have seen ‘Kuzunoha’ event before Chapter 6.

Orga: Law Route Chapter 6 Julia extra scenario. Requires you to have seen ‘Rumbling Earth’ event before Chapter 6

Magach Alter and Gilliam: Law Route Chapter 6 Elea extra scenario.
Requires you to have seen ‘Parental Bonds’ event before Chapter 6.
Gilliam is then recruited in War Council with 20+ Chaos.

Regina: Can be recruited via Soul Cage in the Chaos Route, and after Noel’s title selection scene in the Law Route.

Titles:
For Sylvia, Noel, Leon, Tsubaki, Ayame, Julia, Liese, Elea, and Tetra
you will need to be on the Law Route and get their Affection to at least 4.
Basically, just be nice to them and don’t train them to unlock their title
selection scene in Chapter 6. Leon and Sylvia get their title unlock scene at the start of Chapter 8 in the Law Route.

Anora also gets a title selection scene in Chapter 8 if you decide to do
the True Law Route.
Anora, Karvia, and Celias get a title selection scene in Chapter 8 of the
Chaos Route. You can only pick one - Anora or Karvia + Celias.

Units who do not have title select scenes in story mode - their titles are unlocked by beating the Law Route, Chaos Route and Both(hidden commanders) then checking the War Council menu and going to Change Unit Titles.

Anora is the only girl who can get her title in 2 places - true law and chaos, it does not matter which one you unlock it in, but in chaos it prevents karvia/celias title.

MC titles can only be changed by triggering their title unlock scene again(meaning an entire playthrough)

MC FORMS + TITLES LIST:
Main girls(Sylvia/Tsubaki/Elea/Julia/Karvia) have 3 forms(base/awaken/alter) + title selection pool.
Sylvia also has 'weakened' form but it's useless.
Leon has 3 forms(base/awaken/dark god) + title pool.
Anora has 2 forms(base/dark god) + title pool.
Noel only has title pool.
Secondary girls(Judecca/Ayame/Tetra/Liese/Celias) have 2 forms(base/alter) + title pool.

Base form is what you start with. Awaken is the corrupted form. Alter is Mad form.
Alter form has no tactic skills and awaken usually has more powerful ones.. skills/stats also change with alter having highest stats.

I will add list of skills in each form+title pools + my own recommendations of what to choose.
Be aware that title change is needed to set unit 'triumph' to 100 when unit is at 100 loyalty. Each form has separate loyalty, so you will likely 'redo' titles at least once.

Sylvia
Base: Sap Att:20, Light F:6, Def Only, Abso Cure, Div Heal:16, Spell/Shelling/Self-D Barriers:50/40/50
Leader Squad Boost:15, Barrier:8

Awake: Sap Squad:20, Light F:12, Range Att, Abso Cure, Equi Heal:20, Spell Barrier:60, Crit:25, HS:25
Leader Dark S:10, Barrier 10

Alter: Demon Boost:20, Poison F:16, Def Only, Abso Cure, Equi Heal:10, Strat Hinder:100, Sap Squad:25, Poison Boost:35.
Leader Poison S:15, Barrier 12

Titles: Fool's Lie:2+Sap Squad:30, Strat Supp:100+Barrier:10, Comm Division:20+Spell Barrier:50, Strat Hinder:100+Surround Null, Ampl:20+M-Light S:6, Shelling Barrier:60+Evade:60

She is by far best in base form as barrier slave. For early title - fool's lie 2 is nice.
Later many choices- surround null is nice, completing the spell barrier with comm division or full shell with evade(making her potential 130 evade bait)

Tsubaki
Base: Lightning Boost:20, Max Pow Att:100, Dauntless, HS:25, Counter Res:50, Lethal Crit:50, Hardy:40, Lightning Blast:25
Leader Att Form:50, All Att

Awake: Lightning Boost:25, Max Pow Att:100, Wild Fang:10, HS:30, Crit:20, Lethal Crit: 50, Hardy: 40, Lightning F:10
Leader Att Form:75, All Att

Alter: Lightning Boost:30, Forw Guard, Wild Fang:20, Counter Amp:9, Crit:25, Lethal Crit: 100, Hardy:40, Slayed Def:40
Leader Range Null, All Att

Titles: 2 attacks+Crit:50, Max Pow Att:100+HS:55, Comm Att:25+DS:35, Lightning Boost:50+M-Lightning F:12, Slay Def:80+Hardy:40, Lethal:150+Wild Fang:20

Early she is a nice all attacker if you give her 2 attacks title.

Later melee - make her survive via dragon scales as leader on awake form and 55HS/100 power title.

Elea
Base: Strat Hinder:40, Poison F:10, Range Att, R Venom:10, 2 attacks, Fatal Res:255, Recovery:50, Lethal Crit:50
Leader Comm Undead:15, Sap Squad:15

Awake: Cross Att, Poison F:15, Range Att, R Venom:15, 1 attack, Fatal Res:255, Godly:35, Lethal Crit:75
Leader Comm Undead:20 Attack Form:30

Alter: Nocturnal:75, Poison F:20, Counter Ailm, Vamp Att:20, Counter Res:80, Fatal Res:255, Recovery:100, Lethal Crit: 255
Leader Night Boost:30, Surround Null

Titles: Group Att:3+Pierce Att, M-Poison F:10+Ampl:20, Crit:50+Lethal:80, Nocturnal:100+Day-Attuned, Comm Mech:25+2 attacks, Comm Undead:15+HS:35

Early she is a nice damager/undead commander activator with 15 comm undead/35 HS title.

Later at best she can be used as M poison fielder/amp.

Julia
Base: HS:25, Lethal Crit:50, Evade:65, 2 attacks, Pierce Att, Dragon Scales:100, M-Fire F:7, Flying Boost:20
Leader Comm Dragon:15, Fire S:15

Awake: Crit:25, Lethal Crit:80, Evade:75, 1 attack, Cross Att, Dragon Scales:100, M-Fire F:9, Flying Boost:30
Leader Comm Dragon:20, Fire S:20

Alter: Sap Def:20, Crit:25, Vamp Att:15, 3 attacks, Lethal Crit: 100, Slay Def:80, M-Fire F:10, Recovery:25
Leader Comm Insect 20, Self Heal 15

Titles: DS:35+2 attacks, Flank:15+Drag Scales:70, Comm Drag:20+M-Fire S:7, HS:55+Slay Def:50, Crit:50+Lethal:80, M-Fire F:10+Comm Woman:25

Alright damage dealer/dragon comm hybrid early. No form stands out too much as each has uses based on when you are in the game.

Later will end up being too weak.

Karvia
Base: Dark F:20, Charm Att, R Venom:10, Multi-Ailm, All att, Spell Barrier:50, Godly:30, Sap Squad:30
Leader DS:35, Comm Demon:20

Awake: M-Dark F:10, M-Poison F:5, R Venom:15, Multi-Ailm, All Att, Spell Barrier:50, Godly:35, DS:25
Leader HS:35, Comm Demon:20

Alter: Evade:50, Cancel Att, R Venom:10, Nocturnal:50, Day-Attuned, Flank Att:25, Godly:30, 2 attacks
Leader DS:25, HS:35

Titles: Spell Barrier:50+Comm Demon:20, DS:25+HS:45, Amp:20+M-Dark S:7, Flank:20+DS:50, Godly:10+Spell Barrier:50, Sap Squad:40+Comm Wis:25

Has 2 uses, one is awakened form fielder/spell barrier utility.

Another is Alter DS/Flank usage with flank:20 DS:50 title while having her as leader.
This makes her become flank:45, DS:75, HS:35, 2 attacks pre items as lead.

Leon
Base: Fire Blast:12, Crit:25, Wide Att, HS:25, 1 attack, Parry:40, Spell Absorb:20, Attack Form:15
Leader Comm Div:15, Strat Barrier:50

Awake: Fire F:12, Crit:40, Cross Att, HS:35, 1 attack, Spell Absorb:30, Strat Barrier:50, Hardy:35
Leader Comm Div: 20, DS:25

Dark God: M-Fire F:7, Crit:30, All Att, DS:45, Group Att:2, Slay Def:50, Spell Abs:50, Godly:40
Leader Wild Fang:20, Vamp Att:15

Titles: Max-Power Att:100+2 attacks, Comm Division:25+Strat Barrier:50, Wild Fang:20+Spell Absorb:50, Lethal:100+HS:50, Slay Def:100+Comm Man:35, Crit:30+DS:50

Leon early is kinda nice in dark god form.
His HS title gives him 45 DS + 80 HS with a very good tier 7 weapon which has wild Fang.
Falls off since his attack amount is pretty much group attack and he relies on all attack.

One way to use him later is awakening form leader as comm div booster with strat barrier 100.

Anora
Base: Charm Att, Seal Att, Self-D Barrier:25, Dark F:12, Squad Boost:15, Range Att, Div Heal:12 Spell Barrier:50
Leader Dark S:12, Raise Morale:50

Dark God: Charm Att, All Att, Flank Att:15, M-Dark F:10, Sap Squad:40, DS:40, Self Heal:25, Godly:40
Leader M-Dark S:10, Barrier:10

Titles: Command Div:25+Spell Barrier:50, M-Dark S:7+Amp:35, Raise Morale:100+Strat Supp:100, DS:35+Flank Att:20, Self-D Barrier:75+Strat Hinder:100, Max Pow Att:100+HS:60

2 ways to use her:
Can take her as utility - self-D barrier:100, Spell barrier:50, Strat Hinder:100 in base form
OR field damager in alter form.

Noel
Titles: Hardy:45+Slay Def:50, Vang Honor+Surround Null, Deadly Resist:60+Parry:60, Wall Builder:500+Terrain Null, Beast Boost:50+Comm Beast:25, Raise Morale:150+Act Boost:3

Has best titles.
Early on I recommend Beast Boost:50, Comm Beast:20 for beast team activation.
Later her only use is Parry Tank OR Surround Null dummy(problem that surround null comes with VH) so you need to know what to do.

Judecca
Base: Def Debuff:15, Flank Att:10, Counter Res:70, 1 attack, Stun Att:2, Sap Squad:15, Spell Reflect:70, Parry:50
Leader Comm Ice:15, HS:25

Alter: Flank:15, Crit:50, Vamp Att:15, 3 attacks, Sap Squad:30, Slayer Def:100, Spell Reflect:50, Parry:60
Leader Comm Ice:25, M-Ice F:7

Titles: 2 attacks+HS:55, DS:35+Flank:15, Crit:35+Lethal:80, Comm Ice:20+Sap Squad:30, Parry:50+Spell Reflect:50, Comm Speed:25+M-Ice F:10

Great early damager in Alter form with HS:55, 2 attacks title. Whip tier 6 brings her to 80 HS, +5 attacks.
Vestments allow her to take DS on top of that to actually survive as well.

Ayame
Base: Seal Att, Demon Boost:14, Range Att, Spell Barrier:45, Abso Cure, Evade:60, Water F:9, Demon Med:14
Leader Water S:8, Barrier:6

Alter: Demon Boost:25, M-Water F:10, Water S:10, Sap Squad:25, Range Att, Target Miss, Amp:20, Equi Heal:12
Leader Barrier 12, Fool's Lie 2

Titles: Spell Barrier:55+Amplif:25, Wisdom Formation:40+M-Water S:7, Raise Morale:100+Comm Lightning: 25, Multi-Ailm+All Att, Strat Hinder:100+DS:20, Evade:50+Act Boost:3

Her Alter leader fools lie is nice early.
Overall yet another Field user with good amplification+spell barrier later on. Can also try to make her a normal form evader.

Tetra
Base: Forw Guard, Fire S:10, Shelling Barrier:50, Crit:25, Lethal Crit:60, Wide Att, Hardy:25, Slayer Def
Leader Comm Mech:15, Wild Fang:10

Alter: Evade:50, Def Only, Range Null, Counter Amp:3, Self-D:100, Spell Wall:100, M-Fire F:15, Lightning S:15
Leader Hardy:50, Mech Boost:30

Titles: 2 attacks+All Att, Lethal:80+HS:50, M-Fire S:7+Shell Barrier:50, Comm Mech:20+Def Only, Hardy:55+Slayer:60, Evade:70+Counter Amp:7

Super early she is nice base form Mech Tank with mech comm:20+def only title.

Later on Alter form evader is nice, but you need to target miss into her.

Liese
Base: All Null, Sap Flying:30, Spell Barrier:25, Abso Cure, Squad Boost:12, Div Heal:8, Def Only, Raise Morale:25
Leader Sapp Att:20, Strat Supp: 50

Alter: Strat Hinder:100, Def Only, Flank Null, Range Null, Surround Null, Insect Boost:25, Dragon Boost:25, Div Heal:20
Leader Poison S:10, Terrain Null

Titles: Spell Barrier:75+Barrier:12, Flank Null+Resist Ailments, Strat Supp:50+Raise Morale:100, Sap Att:50+Sap Flying:40, Insect Boost:50+Dragon Boost:50, Squad Boost:40+Evade:80

Alter form is a must - flank + surround null is crazy.

Early she is good evade bait title.
Later her title becomes more debatable since she can't reach higher than 100 evade due to item choice, which is too low. But other titles are debatable too. Insect+Dragon is somewhat interesting to boost unit 'Eden'.

Celes
Base: Wild Fang:10, Squad Boost:20, 1 attack, Wide Att, Lethal Crit:50, DS:40, Hardy:25, Night-Attuned
Leader Comm Div:15, Revenge Fang:25

Alter: Lehal Crit:50, 1 attack, HS:50, DS:50
Leader Wild Fang:20, Cornered:50

Titles: Crit:60+Lethal:120, Comm Knight:25+Act Boost:2, Sun Worship:50+Raise Morale:100, 2 attacks+HS:30, Wild Fang:20+Flank:20, Comm Atk:30+Troop Carrier

Alter form is only 4 skills BUT that just shows how important HS/DS are.
It's the recommended form with HS:30, 2 attacks title for a 80 HS/50DS/3 attacks pre items.

Pretty sure he was asking if Dimension Slash automatically counts as 75 for the purposes of defense reduction in this game like it did in Frontier.

The answer is no. Unlike Frontier, the defense reduction is now equal to the value of the skill. You will need Dimension Slash 75 for 75% defense reduction.

Also suggest using the following correct unit requirements instead

Doris: Beat Easy Difficulty
Geisel: Beat Normal Difficulty
Nachtu: Beat Hard Difficulty
Alioth: Beat Very Hard Difficulty
Goddess Sylvia: Beat Thanatos Difficulty
Cursed Magach: Beat Berserk 1 Difficulty
Hamud: Beat Berserk 2 Difficulty
Earth Dragon Duke Orga: Beat Berserk Difficulty 3
Rampaging Celias: Beat Berserk 4 Difficulty
Iris: Beat Berserk 5 Difficulty
Kuzunoha: Beat Deus Hard Difficulty
Divine Nachtu: Beat Deus Very Hard Difficulty
Vergius: Beat Deus Thanatos Difficulty

In addition, the Alioth scenario vanishes when you select "Origin" in chapter 5 which is when the route split occurs. It doesn't last until the end of chapter 6, this occurs near the beginning of Chapter 5.

Yes, much thanks.

That unit list also makes a lot more sense too, and matches my progress. But do you happen to know how to get a title to Cursed Magach? I haven't touched Deus yet, so it could be under that, I guess.

And on a side note, I only just realized that Destiny Keys give different units depending on the day you are on. I was going crazy not being able to get Young Loki out of my keys, with the "There are no more units that can be hired." error message. Turns out that only works on Fire days, geez.
hopefuldeath Jan 5, 2022 @ 3:04am
Cursed Magach's title should be the same as all the other game clear unlocks, clear Thanatos difficulty then you should get the option in the War Council.

The element of the day doesn't matter for keys, what matters is day/night. Young Loki requires night time, for example.

Yep, thanks, edited the char reqs, noticed some wrong reqs after I NG+'d.

Will eventually add all the day/night info for guest units, guide still in it's early stage

1. Dimension Slash(any) in Frontier was Helmet Split(75), I believe? Is that true in Hollow as well? Dimension Slash(75) is somewhat available this time around, so it makes me wonder if it should be stacked now or not.

2. The tooltip for Helmet Split says that max is 80, but I assume it's still 75?

3. Does def reduction still work the same as before, so maximum def reduction is 0.25*0.25*0.75, as in dropping 1000 Def down to 46.875?
By the way - could you delete this message? I think I might need another post worth of characters to fit the walkthrough XD

First off thanks a bunch for the writeup. Even though I played though Frontier recently but my first hours left me just as overwhelmed as the start of Frontier did.
:sadpug:
Is a bounty/treasure squad as important as it was in Frontier? Getting enough medallion drops and materials basically forced you to have one. Or are the drop rates more generous in this one?

I've been running Bounty8/Treasure Hunter squads as much as possible. Not really because I have HAD to, but because they've done the job. So far only the last few maps have required me to use... real teams, rather than three squads with one carry each.

I'm just starting out on chapter 2 but I've already remade my treasure team from Frontier minus my favorite lupold Lancer. I used them so often in Frontier that they outleveled Lokis team by almost 10 levels lol.

TH is kinda 'easier to use' due to batallion system.. I will describe everything including it more in depth, but it will likely take another 20-30 days to finish walkthrough due to time issues and amount of testing needed for stuff...

as a short summary - TH is picked as highest value out of all teams in battalion, meaning you can have one team being useless TH and still carry it hard via other 2 teams... just need to either ensure TH can survive OR you can revive it with some other 2 team tactica before you win.

It's also a bit more viable to actually grind top gear in HI compared to FI... especially paired with the fact you need insane amount of plays for everything even IF you plan it all out/use guide. This is due to nearly everything non scene needing a finish to carry it over and a lot of things can't be taken at same time.

Early on BH is much more useful though... TH is mostly late game thing when you are on thanatos difficulty.

That being said - as person above told, the first playthroughs I offer can be done with simple boost race teams.. beast/mech/dragon/undead/demon etc... you rarely need more than 2 to actually win those.. so if you it's easy to make 1 TH/BH team and keep using it as filler for 3rd team.

Geez thanks again for taking the time to break it down for me. It's funny I just started noticing that the treasure hunt team I made was really struggling damage wise and not really getting that much extra for my trouble. But the bounty hunter stats are a good call early because I was raking in ores like crazy. Again thanks for taking the time to write all this up. You should really put it in to the guide section if you can. It would be a shame for new players not to be able to find this once the discussion board starts filling up.

OH
MY
GOD

This entire time I've been doing teams of three TH, when all I needed was one team of TH and two proper teams. Well then! This certainly makes things easier. I guess my six TH teams can now be spread out to be among six strong battalions instead of two weak ones.
