Steam Deck Performance Impressions (OLED Model)

The game does not run out of the box, but with some tweaks it runs great! I'm on GE-8-24, as newer iterations crashed. Settings wise: High graphics preset, 90% resolution scaling, 45hz refresh rate fixed on the deck itself. I have no information on battery performance, but hopefully this is enough information for those looking to pick it up on the deck.

UPDATE: :The game ultimately crashed after ~1hr of play. It is quite responsive at 45hz all things considered. Here's hoping we get some stability after a patch; a portable Top Spin would be a dream.

I cannot figure it out on normal Steam Deck, game just freezes and crashes all the time, just navigating one menu option takes 30-40 seconds, unplayable. Tried every setting available, also something is messed up with the game because the performance menu calculates 50 minutes left of battery at 90%

I hope a day 1 patch solves the issues with Steam Deck.

2k games don't go well with steam decks. WWE 2k24 also suffered from constant crashes at the beginning, then they fixed it. But online it never worked, I presume due to the anti-cheat. I hope this online top spin works otherwise I wouldn't know what to do with it

Yep, same crash is happening to me but with OLED.

When I saw the recommended system settings, I had hope that we could play this game on the Steam Deck, even on high settings, at 60 FPS. It is very disappointing that a game with PS3-like graphics can not run on the Steam Deck. I hope they will fix it very soon otherwise I will have to ask for a refund unfortunately.

The game works on my side on OLED.
- Native: invisible skin texture on adversary and other characters. Black screen instead of videos
- Proton experimental : Videos are displayed but still invisible skin textures

Also, with no steam cloud, that would probably not be the greatest anyway.

Oh, right ! Indeed, I tried with GE 9-2, GE-9-4, GE 8-24, GE 8-32 and Proton 9.0, which makes 5 validations.

Lastest stable version is Proton 8.0-5. I haven't had time to test the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 option with Proton and GE, nor PROTON_NO_D3D12=1 with GE.
Actually, I'm not using the steam deck, but Manjaro Linux with an RTX 4070 Ti Super, i9 12900K and 32 GB ram. Although the configuration isn't the same, it's still a Linux system.

I can’t figure this out. Earlier today I played around 3 hrs with no problems. Everything on low and running at 50-70 fps during gameplay and around 30 during cutscenes.
I closed the game to play something else and now it won’t start. It freezes during the first loading screen and the deck just restarts… super weird as it worked smoothly this morning. Hoping they fix it
