Will TopSpin 2k series be annual release?
The game is not named TopSpin 5 but TopSpin 2k25 defining the year of tittle, so this means that the game will be released in annual base as other sport games like Nba 2k , Fifa (FC 24) ect?

Would be very strange to make it an annual release, in my opinion. The world of tennis just doesn't change and evolve at anything like the pace that other sports like football do. In football you have key elements that justify yearly releases like transfers, promotions & relegations, managerial changes, stadium changes, kits etc. and it's on a far bigger, wider scale than tennis.

I find it weird it's called 2K25 because of both this and the fact its releasing in April 2024! If they release another one a year from now, there's not really going to be much they can do differently to warrant a whole new release, surely?

I think not, maybe it could be every 3/4/5 years for example

As the user above wrote, the world of tennis does not change and evolve at a similar pace as other sports such as football, nba etc....

Considering it's possibly the earliest game release the calendar that I could find ever to have the next year's year in the title (I hope that makes sense, releasing in April when usually it's games released in the second half of the year to get the next year in the title), maybe it's a two year cycle like PGA?

Yearly release?
Anyone know if that's the case for the Top Spin series?

Unlikely, most likely every other year like PGA

Will this game server be closed next year like they do with the NBA 2K series making even the single player unplayable?

The fact it's called 2k25 is likely an indication that it's not going to be an annual thing (if it were, it would likely be 2k24). I think they are 'testing the water' with this one and if it does well, we might see a bi-annual schedule for it.

Which one do you like better - PGA 2k or Ea Sports? I'm leaning towards EA Sports ... really sharp presentation and atmosphere

PGA 2K23 and it isn't even close from a gameplay perspective for me. EA PGA feels very wooden to play and has horrible slow menus. I even prefer the graphical look of 2k23, doesn't have forced chromatic aberration like EA -_- courses look nice in EA though.

Oh, i was not aware PGA 2k is released every other year. Because. I just don't see tennis games be a yearly release where I can justify the price, i believe every other year would be better.

To be fair, this year NBA 2k25 releases so it wouldn't mean anything if they release a new TopSpin 2K every year around April. They could release the next one in 2025 called TopSpin 2K26. It's not too uncommon for sports games to use the upcoming year in the title. FIFA used to do the same I think, like FIFA 23 released in 2022. Though it may have to do with the season in those games as football season would have been 22/23 and similar with NBA season when it uses the year the season ends in so may be different with tennis.

Though golf and tennis aren't as popular (at least as video games) as football or basketball, so a new release every 2-3 years does sound more likely.

No need for a tennis game to be annual release and if i am not mistaken there is no tennis game in history with annual release.. In the other hand is weird why 2k named top spin k25 and not TS5.. This year's definition something means for sure.. Lets see , the game gets good reviews so far , people are ''hungry'' for a really good tennis title after some mediocre games we got the last years so TSk25 has the potential to sells many copies and be a succss!
