''Online features are scheduled to be available until 31/12/26''
For those did not notice it under system requirements on steam in dark small leteers says:
''Please note that TOPSPIN 2K25’s online features are scheduled to be available until December 31, 2026 though we reserve the right to modify or discontinue online features without notice.''

Dont get me wrong , i dont want to sabotage the game or something , instead i am gonna buy it but i want to warn those that want to buy a game and play it for many years that is not the case , much more because that even career mode is always online..

So the main single player mode will stop working in 2.5 years. In this case, the game is worth $20 max.

That's 2 years and 8 months from today (976 days). Topspin 2K27 will be out by then...
If you start saving 0.07 cents a day from today. You will be able to get the new game.

For me, this game is a big disappointment: it's not Linux-compatible, Steam Deck's perfs aren't great and many Windows users have perfs problems. In a few days I'm going to do a dual-boot to hope to play it under Windows, if it works all the better, otherwise too bad, 120€ for nothing. The fact that you can't even play offline when the servers are down is a scandal. I was excited to see TopSpin 2K25 after 13 years of absence from the license, but this is really a cold shower... I don't think I'll be picking up the next installment if a sequel sees the light of day.

To be honest, that's to be expected for any sports game series with scheduled yearly releases, be it made by 2K or EA: FIFA, NBA, F1, WWE, you name it. The only difference here is that they tell you frankly how long you may expect online support, rather than just sneakily shutting servers down which is the usual way. I appreciate that.

For me it's not a major issue though. I rarely use online functions anyway as I usually practice against the AI and the "main event" is playing 2 or 4-player games on the couch with family or friends. I also think that career mode will most likely work offline.

That is the main problem, it won't! Servers down and you can do nothing but academy and exhibition matches.

We'll see. My money is on them making career mode available offline before online functionality is removed.

This information is usually in the instruction book, so having it on the Store Page is a positive step. I'll add it to the FAQ thread when I get the opportunity like I do with the other 2K Sports games.

Is it positive to schedule the end of this expensive game in only 2 years ?

You may want to read the original sentence again: "so having it on the Store Page is a positive step". This doesn't mean that ending online support early is positive. It means that informing us about it on the Store page rather than in the instrucion manual (which is owned by practically no one) is a positive step.

This issue is not a big deal. Its a possibility that a new version of Top Spin had been released months before that time comes. 2K is a big company and surely they have plans for their games.

On the contrary, there is a big issue, a fundamental issue, if devs like 2K or Ubisoft create disposable games very expensive and with a very short lifetime. This behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and customers defending it are the reason why it exists and will continue. It has to stop now or it will become normal.
This guy, Zeokage, I don't know who he his but I understand perfectly well what he is trying to do and it is a completely unhelpful attitude, defending systematically indefensible behaviours from the dev team or asking to send useless tickets to 2K.

Zeokage is the Guy who mangaes all their Forums for them i guess you call it Community Manager these days? Don't lnow for shure, he was already there when the 2K Forums where still available, but he is not too blame here.

And what he meant by his post is that it is a good thing that people are getting to know about the date on the store page because ther is no Manual for Steam Games while for consoles it is written in the Box of the game.

Yeah because they did that with how many of their NBA 2K games? None of them got the option to play MyCareer after they shut down the servers!
