Considering they only have to animate at most four players in a match, I'd expect graphics and clothing/hair physics AT LEAST on par with WWE 2k24. Sadly though, rather than utilise the tech they've developed in other titles, they've just re-used the very old TS4 engine and slightly updated some things.

Very, VERY disappointing.

Sounds like he's disappointed with the sub-par graphics, and sub-par animations including some that are identical and re-used from TS4. I can see where he's coming from and agree completely. Sadly, I don't see or hear anyone saying that are completely blown away by how great this game looks.

In my case, I appreciated the current release of TS2k25, to think that for a very long time, PC has been neglected to have a nice tennis game. I know it may not be complete based on what people are asking for, but compare to other tennis games out there, I am happy that most of what I like in tennis games are here. Like realistic movements and strokes of characters(not robotic), the graphics in my opinion is great less the faces of course (based on my eyes as a graphic artist), the gameplay is very good too. The ball physics, clothes and hair animations etc. I am too that I would like this tennis game to be as complete as possible, but I just want to have a new and realistic tennis game after 13 years.

The game is a HUGE downgrade

Why are all the animations re-used from the older games? Why do the faces look like plastic? FIFA24 looks like a masterpiece compared to this.
No Rafa no Novak? How can you make a game without the big 3 in the package. Also no other players like Murray/Wawrinka etc, the roster is super small.

Ball speed and the tempo feels so bad and the meter when you have to hit the ball is on top of you and covers the screen, TS4 had a better solution having a small circle beside your player it did it better, it was a unnecessary change.

You had since 2011 to make a sequel and a good game but this seems like a huge downgrade in every aspect, you ported the source code and took everything from the last game and reused it without any changes, even the graphics but somehow they look worse.
Now we even have in game purchases. Really 2K?

Please don't be a consumer, don't settle for rubbish even though you've waited so long. Because buying this is supporting unfinished games using games as service model and it sucks.

In 15 or 20 years' time, we'll be paying a subscription fee to play, which will put a definitive end to full games without DLC: the market is heading in that direction and there's nothing we can do about it, just like the disappearance of games in physical format, unfortunately. So EA found the solution of abusing micro-transactions, and the vast majority followed suit...

Sorry TS2k25 is not rubbish, its quality game. I know you said that because you are not in favor or the present setup of the games, not only 2k but other game company also. You said that new generation of kids dont understand what quality and fair trade looks like, well maybe, thats why other developers are making use of kids and older gamers innocence to develop the what you said "mediocre or less mediocre" games for free or not being paid, instead of the developer to do their job. An easy money for these developer. Thats why they dont even tried anymore to improve their games, only concentrated on gameplay. You said that you are in a coma for 15 years, I understand that you are not use to the present trend of gaming because of that. Theres nothing that we can do about it. Thats how it is now which I think is the effect of worldwide advancement of everything. No matter how you disagree with being a consumer, we are consumer, and it is now for you to choose wisely what you are going to buy.

Barely in development for 2.5 years

Seems like 2K is not bothering to make this a good tennis game? Certain things also seem like they are going to be behind DLC. Like current pro players.

I feel this is shaping up to be another NBA2K situation. It visually doesnt look good either and looks like they barely improved visual quality from TS4. But I guess you cant expect much given the very short development time.

Dans l'ensemble je suis d'accord avec toi, ceci dit TS4 n'est pas exempte d'imperfection dans sont gameplay. Bien qu'envers d'autres jeux les déplacements sont fluides il y a un "blocage" après chaque coups qui fait qu'on se replace pas de suite. Aussi 2 compétences alors que 90% du roster en a 3... Jouant contre des IA depuis un bon moment, côté femme ça va (à part Wozniacki et Zvonareva qui ont tendance à être un peu plus chiante que les autres) côté homme, Murray, Djoko et Nadal sont cheatés comme pas possible (je joue en pro). Une fois j'ai essayé de battre Nadal en expert, j'ai réussi à le battre en 5 sets au bout de 7 heures de jeu. Il y a eut un Tie-Break où je l'ai eut de justesse 120 à 118 (j'abuse pas). Même avec la barre d'endurance vide il sortait des coups comme si sa barre était pleine là où je peinai à rattraper avec des coups...

Certes c'est pas du multi mais à défaut d'en faire on se retrouve avec des IA... Je me demande même pourquoi le niveau légende a été ajouté sur 2K25.

EDIT : J'ai oublié les balles sur les lignes : tantôt jugée bonne tantôt jugée faute, pas de système de zoom sur l'impacte ce qui est dommage car l'angle de caméra des replay est pas ouf.

There are some valid concerns but from the videos it plays a solid game of tennis and that's what matters most to me. Makes the gameplay in the other tennis games look unrealistic.
