Collectors Packs, Grinding, and You
The Collectors packs are a used bandage fix for the grind issue, yes it helps people get cards that are missing for a relatively cheap price (basic packs all the way its just faster) but it doesn't solve the real grind issue. Collectors packs take 10 basic or 5 gold packs to get you ONE card, and do not allow for duplicates. This lets rise to two issues remaining.
1. The Grind (I know you devs love the grind, otherwise maybe some of the grind would be toned back a bit)
2. The Necessity of Leveling Cards

Cards only get better (some, get really really good) with levels. While I think that its nice to finally acknowledge that the grind gamble for basic, gold, and epic packs are a problem, the currently implemented "solution" isn't good enough. The payout for a collector's pack is mediocre at best and at worst, it's insulting for the amount of time spent getting a single pack. It's very clear this wasn't designed with every player in mind so much as it was designed with your no-lifers (no offense high rank players) in mind. The players who rack up hours upon hours playing this game and this game only every day. Its for people who have been playing so long and have saved up packs, but haven't quite gotten every card.

The second problem I personally find with the collectors packs is the refusal to give duplicates once every card is obtained. I'm sure it couldn't possibly be THAT hard to either add an unlock-able pack obtainable once every card has been unlocked that gives you duplicates to non max'd cards, or to simply add a function to collectors packs, that will give you duplicates on non max'd cards once you HAVE gotten every card. In it's current state, its like you looked at the grind, and said "how can we pretend we're doing something, without really doing something?"

I know this community, I've seen the discord. I know how this might be received by many of the hardcore BFF players, who've been rabidly defending the grind as if it was their constitutional right. I'm just saying it wont hurt anyone, to either tone it back a bit, or make the game more accessible in general. I could be wrong, but I certainly do not see much new blood getting past the hefty grind required to play this game, people will come, and then very quickly leave.

Very well said, especially on card leveling. Some cards don't even feel worth using unless they're maxed out.

I completely agree as a game veteran, id even say to remove card levelscompletely and make every card max/one level for everyone at all times. Card unlocking via packs is cool but leveling till max is miserable
packs should stay but there should definitely be some way to buy or upgrade cards manually, for the right price of course. also you seem like pros why do you get two random permanent card effects at the start of the game and how do i control what i get?

The random permanent card effects are chosen each match start based on the rank of the players. The lower ranked player gets the cards, further lower your rank than the opponent the more perk cards you get (one to two max), and card choice is not in control of the player. You can "influence" the perks given by simply picking a specific character as it makes the game "give you [synergetic] perks"

Its a fact that perks are different for different chars

Noted. Wasn't totally sure myself and only vaguely remembered hearing something like that.
