Edit just tried game ran fine but anti cheat was not enabled hope this helps
FYI on linux if you try to launch a game with easy anti cheat it will simply not work but due to the guys at steam working their magic you can download a program within steam called easy anticheat runtime solving the problem :)
Friends vs Friends runs fine without the easy anti cheat runtime being installed so the anti cheat is not enabled on linux hope this makes sense
Yeah but there should be a balance between being super invasive and functional. So this is not set in stone and we will keep working on it for a while.
People have been claiming for this and also the reporting system is still there so until we get something that makes "everyone" happy we will be using these two things.
while its appreciated to take invasiveness into account, the truth is, the only way an anti-cheat has any hopes to be any sort of functional, is to be invasive... ones that aren't are just there to make people *feel* better... or to re-assure children. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just realistic.
Maybe you could try what this video does:

EAC is hard on weak systems in terms of loading times and is harsh on users that have unusual Windows setups where it will crash the game with vague error messages that are of no help.
