how can i have a 2v2 match with someone on my friends list against other players?

Once you have them added you need to invite them to a lobby with the button in the top right. After that, go into the menu, click the "play" section (play button), and select the 2v2 option. It's a little weird because if you use the quickplay launch button it automatically puts you into a 1vv1 with them.

My friend that bought the game for me did the 1v1 option by mistake the first time we played together. It's actually a pretty fun warm up exercise, keep each other on your toes.
