Trainz also features a route builder called "Surveyor" which allows you to create or edit routes, You can also use Surveyor to create your own sessions or edit sessions. The ability to merge routes is handy
Surveyor 2.0 is a new version of Surveyor, this only comes with a Trainz Plus Subscription with TRS22/TRS22 PE and TRS22PE without a subscription

I hope this information is helpful, there are also tutorials available on creating content for Trainz if you get stuck the Trainz forums has users who has been there for over 10 years with excellent experiences

Also Trainz has a pretty cool feature in that you can choose any of the model railroad scales for your build (G, O, HO, OO, TT, N, and Z). The one called Real Scale is a true 1:1 ratio which means 5280 feet is a true 1 mile in the sim. I have a section that is 10 miles and at 40 MPH it took just over 23 minutes to go from dead stop to the end of the route. The only other train sim I know of that is also true 1:1 is Run8.
