Differences from the full version

Sandbox includes:

• Free play mode from the full version.
  
• All graphical improvements, new interface, QoL edits, and gameplay improvements.
  
• All generator quests - bounties, contracts, random events, treasure hunting and naval missions.
  
• Support for modern systems and hardware.
  
• Steam Deck support.
  
• Steam Workshop support.

Sandbox does not include:

• A story mode with unique events, pirate and officer careers, colony building, romance, and hundreds of hours of adventure.
  
• 90% of the side quests, including all new ones.
  
• More than half of the items, including some new ones.
  
• About 20% of the ships, including all new and unique ones.
  
• All unique officers.
  
• Almost 100 achievements.

Therefore, Sandbox will give you roughly 10-20 hours of pirate freeplay, while the full version will give you almost 200 hours of both story and freeplay.

The future of Sandbox depends on the sales of the full version and the user ratings of the full version itself. If you want Sandbox to become a full game and a separate part of Sea Dogs, then support the two games by playing each.

Graphics had been improved, the difference is huge. Try to load Caribean tales and compare. Also, from the recent news:

Maybe they meant to put the 15th? To me it made no sense to release the free mode before the paid version. Probably wrong though but that's my logical guess

At this moment Sandbox indeed can be considered an extended demo.

there are too many keybindings thats whats put me off this game

Keybinds are a problem, also a problem is I bought the full game then had to refund it because I felt pressured to find everything and only later did I come back and read "You should try the sandbox version" - Well on the full version I was on sandbox, but I didn't realize you meant this demo lol. Also Some of the options in new game settings could use descriptions, like "Crew Shares" the "PIRATES" attributes, and the "Classic/Exploration" Settings.

Note at this rate I may yet rebuy the Full Version, but I haven't decided yet, lots of information is hidden or poorly explained, and that's the game's biggest problem.

I still don't understand some of the differences between the two version. So Sanbox mode isn't just a smaller part of the paid game? Why it is written that I should try and and support both games, so that sandbox would become a full version? So if enaugh people buy the original game the sandbox version will be updated to become a free game with everything included, or are there things in sandbox game that are not present in the full version?

How do you hire officers now? I speak to them at the tavern, they take my money and I say I'll see them on the ship but they just vanish, can't find them on the menu to assign them and they're not on the ship.
They essentially take my money and run, vanish from the game.
Its this a bug? How does it works in this new version?
