Beer Factory

Foklift Simulator
I really want to like this game, but I don't see how I can get off the forklift to actually run the factory and configure automation. Again I really want to like this game, but right now I fear all I'm doing is playing a Forklift Simulator where I move components of beer production.

I agree here, this is my biggest turnoff for this game. It's great that they just patched a bunch of bugs and QOL improvements, but they didn't address the fact that it boils down to just a Forklift Simulator, and not a very good one at that.

I want to enjoy the game, but this is the sort of game where you're supposed to progress and as you move up the chain of production/etc, you hire employees to do the lesser steps that you started with. The problem is, the very first step you start with (running the forklift) is one that you will always have to do. You can get employees to do everything else, so they get to climb the ladder, but you're still stuck on step #1: drive the forklift.

And even then, unless you're cheating and grabbing pallets through the side of the truck, you're still on the pallet jack getting it out of the truck, before putting it on the forklift to take it somewhere.

The Forklift must be run by a Player. There's no way to assign it to a Worker. YOU need to be the person transporting various recipe items and product from place to place. The only thing you don't need to worry about transporting is the Beer. There are pipes that bring the Beer from the Brewing Area underground to the Bottling Facility or wherever you place a Bottling Machine. All fixed stations (Grain Crusher x2, Brewing Vats, Bottling Machine, and the Dock) will eventually be able to be manned by a Worker. Dock is not yet functional and Brewing is unreliable, but the Grain Crusher and the Bottling Machine work.

To be clear, YOU need to:
  1. Transport the Raw Grain to the Grain Crusher
  2. Transport the Crushed Grain to the Brewing Vats downstairs
  3. Transport the Empty Bottles to the Bottling Machine
  4. Transport the Bottled Beer to the Loading Docks
  5. Until it's implemented, operate the Crane to Load the Pallets of anything to be shipped onto the Semi's for shipment.

That's exactly what I thought too.
Forklift Simulator would be a better title.

The game is still under development, and is in Early Release. It is EXPECTED that there will be bugs and things will change. I'm enjoying what has been developed and see the potential. YOU may not like it, but I plan to give it the opportunity to be completed and to evolve out into it's potential.

I have several solutions to become an additional crane operator:

1. Place the bottling machine on the Dock.
2. Place pallet spaces on the Dock and assign them to Beer Brewing devices. Employees will go to the Dock to collect raw materials.

They'll go work on the Docks, they can do Bottling on the Docks, but they cannot operate the Crane, as that's not been implemented, yet. The Player must operate the Crane. My understanding is that it's a planned feature, but the Dev is still focusing on bugs, fixing the Grain Crusher, and fixing the Workers assigned to Brewing...
