QP, 90 Hz, what oculus tells me is recommended

That's ... not how you do it. Their recommendation is based on baseline hardware. If your hardware surpasses that, you can ignore the "recommendation", example; if you have a 4080 or a 4090 you can set rendering resolution all the way to the right in many games which is not "recommended".

well, if I use their recommended (which I'm actually pretty sure is adjusted to hardware), and the settings, I get optimized 90hz-ish results

obviously if I'll increase resolution in anyway than fps will drop

I mean ... 1.5x render resolution looks better than 1x.

wouldn't it tank performance?
If my default + specified gives me 90, that would give me 50~, no?

That's not how things work, no.
When you choose a refresh rate for your HMD, say 90, then a fps cap is in place. Lets say your hardware is good enough that without a fps cap, you'd get 130fps, then setting quality settings that impact performance by 20% would still put you at 104 fps, and since your refresh rate /fps cap is 90 .... your fps would take no hit and you'd still be at 90fps. The key term is "headroom".

ie: if your hardware is good enough, you can set 1.5x render resolution and maintain 90fps. It's a matter of how much headroom you have. You can also try setting your refresh rate to 80hz so you only have to hit and ideally maintain 80fps. Another option is utilize ASW so you only need to hit 40fps with 80hz, or 45fps with 90hz.

It greatly depends on the game, and your hardware, so feel free to tinker. Try 1.2x render resolution, try 80hz, try 90hz, try ASW automatic, always enabled or completely disable it. you can even try 120hz and 1.5x render resolution if the game is potato graphics /easy to run.

Bottom line, to answer your question, 4070ti is pretty good for VR. I can't attest to Green Hell specifically, but you should be able to tinker with settings on the higher end of the scale and have a good experience.

eh. you're empirically wrong when comparing within one-game sample. at least from my perspective.
but I usually test and forget. haven't done a huge excel analysis

maybe you're forgetting my settings are optimized to utilize my 4070ti to the max (increasing settings further tanks fps to unacceptable levels)

anyway, I should go back playing. strolling jungles is fun, but VR survival is boring

?
I didn't give " one game sample". I specifically said it depends on the game, and your hardware. I gotta wonder if you read what I just said.

obviously if you can run a game at 300 fps, and have a 150fps screen, you can increase resolution at no cost but electricity

"Obviously".
Yet you seem to need the obvious stated.
