I believe Maruyama Kugane wrote the script for this game, and it's semi-canon.

As for a reason? Its most likely because Clementine killed Nina. Who we get reminded of every time we see Tuare. Which in turn reminds us of how Nina died, and rekindles the hate for Clementine.

If you really wanna simp for a char the has some redemption, it would be that for Arche that has the twin siblings. Id rather play as her.

They mean Semi canon cause if I recall right, Clementine is revived and escapes Nazarick or is let go, though we don't actually see it happen.

No, semi-canon doesn't just mean "names." Just because a story is using canon names from something does not make it semi-canon.

That doesn't make any sense.

There can be non-canon stories with canon names. No, semi-canon means that soft-canon, meaning that the story contains elements (such as plot points) which are canon to a series, however, the whole story itself isn't canon.

The game is soft canon because in another side story of Overlord, Clementine was revived and somehow escaped from Nazarick

You say that but then you forget what series this is.

Clementine is OK to play as really, she's one of the more powerful established New Worlders. Zesshi and Black Scripture 1st are Nobodies so it'd be weird to play as them.

Lets say you want to make a game fighting your way out of Nazarick, what choices do you have? It seems people forget that the main characters are all evil bosses who LIVE in Nazarick

Clementine is obviously the only choice and it's also really interesting that there is a possibility of her surviving or being revived for experiments on Nazarick.

Also really hilarious that people expect a Dark Souls or AAA game when Animes barely make enough money as it is to survive. Why do you think Animes have so many waifus? the only way they make money is selling their figures and dolls.

So just be grateful you get this and not another stupid fighting game.

P.S. Clementine has a legendary voice actor, Yuuki Aoi. She does the voice of Madoka, Evil Tanya, Tsuyu Asui, Spider (Im a Spider so what?), and Tatsumaki (Tornado of Terror) just to name a few. She's a LOT more popular than you think.
