That's an emission, if will cause severe damage if you stand out in the open during an emission (to you and also to NPC entities).

To prevent this, just stand behind an object that blocks your vision in the direction the emission is coming from

After the emission ended, pretty much everythin o nthe map is dead (great for loot goblins *g*) and radioactive rain will start

Well, Watchers may spawn there so there is a chance of some max tier loot indeed although the chances are smaller/the amount will be less compared to other maps

Btw you can move safely during an emission if you know how as the emission only has specific frames in which it will cause damage.
- Bird start to fly all across the screen (safe)
- Weird visual effects are popping up everywhere (safe)
- A sound cue plays that is slowly ramping up for a period of roughly 1s to 1.5s (safe)
- A big, clearly visible wave of pink stuff rolls across the screen (being out in the open and not behind an object = unsafe = damage)

So if you only move around during the times of the emission at which the wave is not crossing your screen, you're 100% safe and you should actually be moving around during an emission because of the radioactive rain that will follow it. If you're in the middle of a map and already on a white radiation scale, making it back to an extract withou dying while constantly being huddled up against some irradiated object and then afterwards running through the radioactive rain will most likely cause you to die (except you got extensive amounts of anti rad meds on you)

Oh yeah, this i managed to figure out. Just was veeeery confused coz i never saw it before and i spent quite a lot of time on swamps. I got out in the last second after burning all my medkits in the process :D

Id argue its easier to hunt watchers in the Mall, theres at least 3 patrols inside. Only problem is the sprin king Kibba :D

(though now it has multiple counterplay options like the wave having a timer, damage spread out, and can hide behind things - it might be cool if it happens a little more often)

i even got one in the starter forest one time, it certainly helped me sort out the overweight/rest of loot tough decision making i was having a few screens away from extraction previously haha

Not sure if it ends, it will 3shot you i think depends if u have the medstation i think.

When the Lazer sweeps the screen u need to hide behind a solid object, big rocks buildings containers.

Yeah so as it turns out it does eventually end after few minutes but turns into radiation rain, so basically you have to extract or keep medicating. Very cool event had me scared.

i startzed a new game and in the first match i get this emission crap...seriously in the first game .... i had nothing to counter act the radiation rain -.-, will cost me a fortune when i get out alive
