Scientist Quest in Mall Map access issue

so - in both of my playthroughs my scientist quests require me to either place or retrieve from anomalies in the Mall map. The issue is the area to complete the quest is the North-East corner where we had to go to repair the bridge. Without spoiling it, I have no way of accessing that area now that Zakov has been unlocked. Is it just me or is this a bug?

Its a bug, you can cheese your way into that area with the anti-stuck controls, but the extract isnt there after the mission.

That's what I figured. Good to get that confirmed - I think I've had this issue since 1.0 - really hope they prioritize and fix this for the next release!
