Looting speed is ridiculously slow
In a multiplayer game like Tarkov looting is expected to be slow because the devs want you to be vulnerable to other players, however in this game its pointless to make it slow. Looting feels like a chore. Sometimes there will be a bunch of corpses and a few chests and by the third container I loot I've lost my immersion by staring at the inventory menus for way too long. Even with the perk it feels too slow.

nah you trippin. It's very slow without the perk, with the perk it's just fine. Also your point about tarkov applies here too. Many of us play on hardcore and looting is possible death unless you've cleared the entire area, which is a gameplay mechanic it makes you consider.

"Many of us play on hardcore and looting is possible death unless you've cleared the entire area"

Yes, you should clear the area, but in this single-player game it is a non-issue due to the fact that most AI doesn't roam around looting as well. Checking what is in a container in this game takes way longer than it would IRL and it's unnecessary in a game without PvP.

Bro, I 100% the game. In order to get all the achievements you have to finish a permadeath run. If you wanted a pat on the back for playing hardcore look elsewhere; Anyone with patience and determination could do it.

So then what is your point here? Its an intentional game mechanic.

Yeah, a poorly thought out and unimmersive one. No surprise that in the top 5 most downloaded mods on Nexus is one to increase looting speed.

It's not pointless, you don't see the point. Not the same thing.

Again you're obsessed with this hardcore thing. I agree, it's pathetic how obsessed you are with it. Nobody was talking about playing hardcore being impressive except you. And here you are mentioning AGAIN that you got 100%. Nobody cares about your 100%. I have 100% in almost 70 games, and adding this game to it would mean nothing. In fact most of those 70 game 100%'s mean nothing, beyond playing them through. You're the only one who keeps bringing it up as impressive or not, nobody else cares.

You want to brag about it, hence the fact that you've bragged about it twice while I've merely brought it up as an example of why looting taking time is useful (there are stakes to it), you dismissing it doesn't change that.

Anyway it really doesn't take that much time for anyone who doesn't need a dopamine hit every .2 seconds though and as you already said you can download a mod. The answer to your whining is already there, you just want attention.

Nobody was talking about hardcore at all until you. You can derail the thread, but accusing me of doing so is pathetic of you. Every reply to you is a waste of time, I should have just ignored your worthless ass.

Someone bringing up hardcore doesn't = bragging no matter how hard you hit the table. You assuming it does is what gives you away. You think it's a big deal.

I died last night in the last area in zakov because I was listening to music and smoking a bowl and didn't notice a cyclops watcher sitting in the corner on top of a cabinet. That's how seriously I take hardcore Sievert.

I'm actually more into Days Gone right this minute, you have any fascinating takes about that ?

And he continues to derail the thread. Lets summarize the earlier messages.

Me: "I think the looting speed is unimmersive"
You: "I don't, those of us who play hardcore think looting is super risky."
Me: "Tons of people play hardcore, that doesn't make you special."
You: "You're ignoring my point! You're so insecure! You're making quite the show! stop bringing up hardcore! I have 100% more games that you! Do you need dopamine? I smoke while playing, so I'm relaxed!"

Did I miss anything?

As for your other dumb point...

The existence of a mod doesn't mean that the developers should just stop balancing or adding content to the game.

EDIT: The fact that 1 in every 5 modder felt the need to change the looting speed shows that there are many people that don't like it. Hell, a slider to adjust it in the settings when making a new world (one that gets adjusted according to chosen difficulty) could help a lot of people not get bored by looting. You could keep your slow looting and a casual could make his less sluggish.

"all everyone else saw"? It's just you and me in here buddy. Literally the only other commenter made fun of your point.

You are a legitimate comedian. Most people don't make posts this inane without trying to get clown awards out of it.

And now you bring up awards rather than returning to the concept of looting. Once again, you are a waste of time. Didn't you mention "moving on" in your previous comment? Were you just lying, wasting more of our time with empty words?

Glad you enjoyed yourself, but what do you think? Could a slider in the difficulty settings to change loot speed be beneficial or would it be detrimental if looting a single body that's full of loot didn't take about two minutes while you knew that you have 5-10 more bodies to go?

Fair enough.
1. make it so that the looting is instant, if you cleared the area
(some issues of where to draw the line, how far one needs to clear)

2. make a chance to spawn random enemy in distance
so it's somewhat similar to multiplayer like you suggested
having to not let your guard down when looting as a result

3. enjoy the game as is

i'm not gonna say the current state is perfect
but i don't think i'm gonna call it a flaw
and complain or argue about it

However, not gonna fault the player if they think it's a waste of their time waiting
cuz it does take up a chunk of the playtime

which i also feel, why complain when mod for it exists?
if you're asking for it to be official, you're basically
forcing every player to play how you want to play the game

Overall, i don't agree with you, but i get you. there's a solution. use it
