Steam Deck/Controller support feedback.
Hi. I recently purchased the game due to the controller support update. I have been following the game for some time, as it’s right in my taste zone. Here is some objective feedback, primarily focused on functionality:

1. Performance is very good for me on steam deck. Zero issues so far.

2. In-game (in action) controller implementation is very good. Movement, shooting, and radial wheel feel very solid to me. I’m able to engage and interact with the world very well.

3. Unfortunately, menu/inventory interface is seriously broken. I cannot understand how it is supposed to function:
(A) Item/category selection in inventory appears completely random. Unless I move an entirely different item to align in a perpendicular fashion with another item, I cannot select/highlight the item I desire. It’s almost like playing a broken puzzle mini-game, and has gotten me killed quite a few times. This is a really serious issue.

(B) The “control key” option for splitting stacks of any item is not mapped. It’s all or nothing.

(C) The “instant transfer” button (default “X”) also moves the cursor to the designation, which means the player must manually navigate back to the original inventory. It’s time consuming and frustrating.

(D) The map system is barely functional. It can only be navigated via d-pad, and there is not a specific cursor for placement of waypoints. Sometimes, waypoints can not even be set within certain areas.

In summary, I really like the game, and am enjoying it on steam deck. However, controller support is, realistically, only at about 50% functionality and certainly not at “certified” status. I’m going to keep playing, and look forward to future updates.

Couldn't agree more.
Before the controls update
All the mapping I've done was perfect.
Then I boot up the game and it total dog 💩
