Scientist Work 1/2 Quests - Analyzer

Heya. For both these quests, you are required to "Place the analyzer in the Forest."
I have brought analyzers with me, bought additional ones later and I can not seem to figure how how to -place- them. I have walked through most of the traversible part of the circle without seeing an interaction either. Dropping them does not seem to do the trick either.
Can someone describe to me how to do this step like I'm five?

I found a "place" interaction near the center of the circle, but just to the right. It was near anomalies.

+1 really hard to find the right spot. Annoying if you died and lost the analyser too

Maybe this won't help you but others in the future, the medic vendor sells new ones for 2,5k!

Also, to confirm to whoever finds this thread later, the way to do it *is* to find a space close to/between the crystals at the center of the circle, F-interact like you would to loot them.

for me i had to place the analyser on the crystal

it's incredibly stupid it doesn't tell you where to place it. there's nothing interesting about your character not knowing what to do until you luck into standing in the correct random spot.

Actually if you stay exactly in the center of the circle or roughly there you can place it 100% of the time.

exactly, all you need to do is get as deep into the anomaly as you can until the "place" option pops up

for larger anomalies you need go quite deep into it

works every time
