Steam Deck

I understand full Steam Deck support is on the roadmap, but I wonder how well it plays on the deck right now. Any firsthand experiences ?

While I have a steam deck, I've only ever played the game while docked using a mouse and keyboard. That being said, I'd browse through the community control profiles for the game, find one you like and modify it as needed. I've read a few posts about doing this on here and reddit and most of the people that have done this say it's not perfect, but it's playable with a decent control profile.

I know about controller profiles, thank you. And i've read a few posts here and there as well.

Does anyone have any firsthand experiences?

fun fact:
es wäre weniger arbeit für die Entwickler cloudsafe zu aktivieren als es arbeit für mich ist irgendwie mein Spielstand aufs steam deck zu bringen!!!
seit Monaten bettel ich um das was selbstverständlich sein sollte!
der Entwickler sagt es hat keine Priorität und schaut lieber zu wie Leute ihre Spielstände verlieren! da fühlt man sich doch gleich wieder wie 2003. vielen dank für diese retro Erfahrung
dieses spiel und seine Entwickler zu unterstützen hat für mich jetzt auch keine Priorität mehr!

There was no thread with community layouts, and nobody was using a steamdeck. Just remove the steamdeck verified tag from the gamepage. It will save you disappointed customers.

I've tried to play it on the steam deck and to be honest, I hate it. Its very clunky in comparison to using a mouse and keyboard. It needs hotkeys added for quickly swapping items between inventory menus and selection of things in stash etc. Hoping the feature is pushed sooner rather than later

How exactly did you get your save over to the steam deck? i have found the save data on pc but not sure where to put it on the SD desktop mode

Been playing on my Deck for a while now. It has honestly helped me get my fix in. Down side, a lot of quick keys are missing. I.e. you cannot speed inventory into your bag, and Track pad control is a little clunky, and if bodies are clumped together you cannot scroll through them or your ammo types for Arman take downs. However, it does lead to good combat habits.

Taking things slower, and while I adore Sniper Shotty in my main save file. It has me running Sniper and Small Arms. That way if I get FUBARd by a Blink, or a Boar, or Spider, I worry less bout precision and just spray. I don't go after downed hostiles until everything is clear, even if I have cover, and I tend to do a soft patrol now around the bodies just to be 100.

All in all, when they get full support for Deck, it will be a solid handheld twin stick style shooter looter scooter. But as of now, it is good, clunky, but good and allows for good habit building.
