Scavenger and Recycler
What does the scavenger module actually give you? Right now I use the one that gives scrap to help keep my ammo in stock. Would scavenger be able to off set the resource loss of scrap if replacing it?

Also, exactly how much of a a boost does the recycler give you?

scavenger give random items.. you can use them or scrap them to get either scrap food/metal/ammo to make other stuff... I think it is an awesome module

Neither module is all that useful once you've unlocked Mr Junk.

He resets inventory just like other vendors.

Yup, which is a good thing. In terms of scrap he invalidates having to spend 2 or even 1 module slot on a recycler and/or salvager. His other inventory covers almost all of the things you'd need to build storage modules or kits and some other base modules.

So the only benefit a Salvager could provide are items that you'd need on a limited basis (i.e. modules or mission turn ins.) Money, food, and water items become fairly plentiful past the early-game.

If for some reason the player wants to fast track it his inventory is affected by the Storage advanced perk.

So for example, it can provide me with some weapons or food on a daily basis? Is it four randomly generated items, kind of like how the other modules give four random stacks?

Do you know about how much of a boost does the recycler give?

Edit: My little soldier runs off of coffee and tea with zero sleep, so I can do around 3 "full" map runs in a day. That being the case, if recycler is a significant boost like 3x or 2x, it would likely out pace what I get from other modules.

A very quick test looks like it's an additional 0.2X scrap, so something that gave you 10 scrap before would be 12 with the Recycler module. I believe it's also truncated or rounded down cause things that give 1 scrap will still be 1 scrap.

Also why do you not sleep? Are you passing on the sleep bonuses for a personal challenge or have a self imposed day limit?

There's a sleep bonus? I think I forgot that existed. I started just chugging coffee and sipping tea during missions to avoid sleep because at some point in the game, it became more economical to do so than to refill my hunger and thirst bars after every nap. I also use the jogger perk, so I believe that also greatly cuts down on my stamina and food needs.

Sleeping heals wounds and hp (I think having your own bed improves this but I am not absolutely sure). On the other hand you can maintain well rested by just chugging tea and coffee and ramming choccie in your man's face, as you have been doing.

The bed module provides an XP bonus for all skills, very useful for leveling fast. I think the Green Army barracks bed provides some stat bonuses but I never use it.

Doubt you'll get weapons, but I guess it's theoretically possible. I also wouldn't count on it to provide food, but sometimes you'll get some.

You can test it for yourself with debug mode (Ctrl + Alt + P).

I found that the scavenger can be a pain in the arse in the late game since your stash quickly fills up and you cannot sell off the excess fast enough, even with the charisma perk that increases trader wealth!

By that point, though, it's easy enough to simply replace it, if it becomes a burden.

Not saying one should get it earlier, but if they do.

I was tempted by it, personally, but ended up skipping it. By the time I would have been able to build it, what it offered already didn't seem that useful anymore.
