I once literally ran into hunter in the dead of the night. the guy literally didn't see me until I bumped in to him.
Having said this, switching off your NVG every so often and paying attention to headlamps from bandits is good. Switch them on and scout with your rifle scope, but switch them off to get a general idea of their positions. With a suppressor on and some luck, you can pick them off with little impunity.
Once you get night vision and a decent scoped weapon, you gain a massive advantage over human enemies. The industrial zone at night (with goggles) vs during the day is a completely different experience.
Enemy humans cant see you as if they have day time vision, they just remember where you are if you shoot because you emit a small amount of light when you fire. If you scope from range, you can quickly kill 2 or 3 of them then retreat so far away they cant see you and repeat.
The guy probably only has 3 hours in the game.
I often go to mall hunting for Kiba while using latest version of NVGs during night because it removes risk from encounters with other hunters. Night does not seem to affect non-human enemies and it also seems that bosses, Lazzarus or Kiba, also does not seem to care much about night.
Hey I'm not some "influencer" so I don't need all that free publicity and try 26 hours in game.
No that's fair, I absolutely hate to have my vision impaired by anything no matter what it is. Those games where the best gear also obscure your vision? Yeah I find a way to win without the stuff. So for me, I hate it, but I can see most people like it so fair enough. Plus it irks me that by hitting RMB you can extend your nvg range... so clearly the Dev isn't going for full on realism.
Also I should have said Alerted Enemies as they do have ESP and will fire upon you around a 65 degree arc without being able to "see you" as in your character is in perfect darkness with a silenced weapon. They do not fire randomly at the area you were last seen EX Suppressing fire, instead they have an arc near where you were last seen that they will fire upon you as soon as you show yourself from heavy cover IE a rock.
