THIRST MECHANIC is so arbitrarily dumb (so many liters, so many tears)
A human can survive for about three days without water.

The fact the character can barely move just because he ONLY drank an entire bottle of water, instead of 7 in about an hour of game time (not even a full day or night), is mind numbingly stupid. Not only would any person be no longer thirsty, they'd likely be throwing up from having to drink as much as this dude does.

It adds nothing to the game, and isn't even slightly realistic or hardcore. Balance that ish.

You could say that with the environment, equipment he carries, stressors and the fast times, etc, he gets thirsty faster? That's how I look at it.

You can't move because you're carrying a ton of stuff unrealistically.

Nah, especially with a backpack I can definitely carry 15 kilos. Thats less than most school children would carry in their backpack with two books.

With a school back pack, dehydration and hunger after sleeping it drops down to 4 lbs/2 kg.

But when was the last time drinking an entire carton of milk was somehow envigorating?

Not sure if this helps but this is just a game in development. These values may change at any time and even if they don't then thirst/hunger/fatigue only concern you for the first few hours of playing. The game is so forgiving with its death system that after a while you get too rich and you fill your stash.

100% agree. The whole thirst/hunger mechanic in games seems so out dated as does stamina. Just get rid of all three, the game becomes much more enjoyable and far less tedious. Those 3 mechanics really only serve to slow the learning curve for a bit and once you know what you're doing they're just useless gimics.

are you sure you want to be playing a survival game? Lots of games don't have hunger/thirst mechanics.

Perhaps it is an outdated mechanism but I think it has a place in a game that is already a shallow version of Escape From Tarkov. If you remove this then there is not that much left in terms of putting pressure on a player. We already are forgiven our deaths so this at least this puts a mechanism in place where we sometimes need to scavenge for stuff that we need to actually SURVIVE. In regards to original point complaining about THIRST - the bartender sells you 2 bottles of dirty water per day and 1 bottle of clean water. There are no prequirements to turning 2 dirty water bottles to 1 clean water bottle. You can also buy milk from him. My point I guess is that this is still easy to fulfill your need even if you did not collect any water source items. Playing the game for few hours makes you learn where to look for food/water/medicine and not even waste a penny on those. It might depend on the starting gear you chose that this could be difficult but that one is one you. If you could be more specific with your circumstances then we could help more.

No, it becomes much duller and boring if they get rid of this stuff.
It's not an outdated mechanic just because some people don't want to deal with it.
you dont want to play games with survival mechanics? There are tons of games without hunger, thirst and stamina. go play one of them. ^^

Dev was talking about adding slider difficulty, like loot rate, hunger/thirst/stamina, damage factor, enemy spawn and so on. So its just a mater of time, just be patient with Early access game.

I agree milk shouldn't be revitalizing however I don't think 15kg is a breeze to carry through all the stressors mentioned in someones previous reply. You ever try carrying a 24 pack of water bottles from the grocery store to your car? Now let alone 5-10km. It sure isn't light, it'll definitely bog your stamina.

that's where it starts...
thumbs down

I can already see it coming. At release, we'll have another rainbow-colored, kid-friendly game that you can play through in one go because a few people were bothered by it, as it was normally planned by the developer.
Hard, difficult, dirty... no we get again dull, boring, brainless.
you want to bet ? :-P
Kinda reminds me of Diablo 2 Resurrected... that Blizzard is screwing up too just because of a few people who just don't want to make friends with the old game.

Bah, the hardcore fan like me just wait for the hardcore mode, and i know they will implement harder stuff before easy one.

If the game allow to adjust everything at some point, doesnt mean the game will be bad, just mean the game wil be accessible for everyone. The only thing it will change is the forum will be quiet about rambling over and over the same thing.

Is that your first game with survival mechanics? lol
