(Throw Bolt) What does it Do Exactly?

Iv'e have 42 Hours in this game but I can't find out what the thing that my Character Throws does. All I found out if does it Extinguishes the fire's But not 100%.

Checking for Anomalies, its a stalker mechanic, if you were unsure there was an anomaly ahead you throw a bolt to check, anomalies will go off if the bolt hits them. However, this game has some pretty easy to spot anomalies so its kinda not helpful.

It doesn't extinguish fire. You throw bolts to set off anomalies (fire and chemical namely) to show you where they are.

I don't remember if Stalker had this but it would be kinda cool if the bolts could be used to lure enemies.

Hi. Going all the way back to the 1979 Movie Stalker (‎Andrei Tarkovsky)....the stalker character ties rags around nuts (the thing that screws on to a bolt) and throws them in front of his path, to lead the party throughsafely. So i think its copied from there. As mentioned above In the stalker series of games and here it's used to trigger anomalies so you can find a safe way to artefacts/crystals etc.

in the film called Cube, they do a similar thing with shoes :)

btw i wonder if throwing a bolt can also work against enemies, to make them move the other way? (will have to try sometime) :)
