Here's its exactly the opposite. I've got tons of cash... but the vendor doesn't have inventory to spend it on.
It doesn't feel hard, it feels like I'm being trapped and put into a box. Which imo isn't a good way to do "difficulty". Maybe double the inventory of vendors. Or make them refresh twice as often. Or something. If I've successfully grinded the roubles, I should be allowed to spend them - even if resources are made to cost more. Make ammo cost twice as much per round if you want it to be hard, but make more available.
(idk what gun your using so i cant offer advice to conserve ammo, i only go in with full gun and 2-3 clips until iv got access to the green army bunker in the back) there vendor sells more ammo in bulk
ammo production is handled by the ammo bench mod for your "house"
That doesn't work though.... Because your character still depletes water and food while sleeping.
What ammo bench?
I went in there, and added the ammo thing, and another thing - but nothing showed up in my shelter area. There's just nothing there.
Sounds like you just designated where the ammo producer goes but didn't actually build it in the crafting menu. When you "install" a module in your bunker it starts at level 0 which is effectively empty space. You need to actually craft it to bring it to level 1 which is usable.
Its working for me. The bartender sells more than enough ammo, food & water for me to do one expedition, come back and sleep. I'm running at a surplus for all three. I wrote some tips for not running out of water in another thread, but it feels like bartender sells enough food & water. I'm surprised anyone runs out of food.
As for ammo, I'm not running out and I'm only buying 15 7.62x54R from him each day. With the ammo I get from looting enemies, I'm definitely net positive on ammo, without even using the other ammo types. I think you can't run out of ammo from the barkeeper if you use 7.62x54R plus another ammo type, or I can't see how.
The guns that use that ammo are the VS-98 and the Nozin Makant. I also have an ECM and an EC74 laying around that I might use, and they both use different ammo type.
You're insane dude. There's absolutely no reason to do that.
There's zero reason you shouldn't be running 3, 4 or 5 runs between sleeping.
Your energy level doesn't deplete nearly that much dude.
Go away toxic.
Yep i feel you bro, even with my experience on the game, starting a new game is always a pain for that reason, food and drink. But this is exactly what make this game so good, the struggle at the begening. As you progress trough skill point and adding module to your home, drink and food (even ammo) will be the least of your problem.
Be aware that carry weight and sprinting affect the rate you loose those stats.
Dealing with the fact that I can't purchase enough food and water is much harder than any of the combat in the zones.
That's really bad IMO. A game should be hard, not frustrating. There's a gigantic distinction there.
Seriously, the combat is a breeze. The progression is a breeze. It's incredibly difficult dealing with insufficient food and water from vendors, when I have more than enough money to buy it.
Making a game frustrating does not make it hard. Making a game hard does not necessarily make it frustrating.
also how often are you sprinting?
cause it seems like your burning thru your food and water a lot faster then normal?
if you have cash to spare you might take a few anti rad pills with you and choke down some rotten food to hold you over?
Simple .. i manage to 'finish' the game (demo) .. ive done everything, more money that i can spend. Then i remerer how i stuggle at the begening and laugh. This is the zero sievert experience. I dont say everyone is up to the challenge, but if you do, that sentiment of acheivement as no price.
You believe that trying to kill the player through food and water scarcity, is what makes a game about raiding zones hard. Which is just a bad opinion frankly.
