What's worse is that today it lowered my graphics after my opponent's PC stalled. I glanced at the indicator when the game chugged, and it was their side that was red, not mine. I don't know what they're doing in the backend, but it's slowly making it worse
Now-
Whenever I play anyone that dips into Red it kills my graphics after the match too.
This sucks.
Dunno what is this function and how it operates. I've googled it too but no success.
Yes, these kind of explanations just makes the issue more obscure. Why would the oponents lag affect your gfx settings? Doesn't make any sense. This is why I'm prone not to accept this as a "feature" just yet. People are so lacking in PC skills today I have to follow this all this year, see if any new reports surface that would actually shed some light in to this. Currently it's just reddit and steam posts that say this is happening.
If true- That is a HUGE, even Game killing (online atleast) issue. Because with every update (even shops ones) it is recompiling shaders. If players are nto aware- any matches with players after an update will be downgrading players.... Players on both sides LOL
This whole first year has been nothing but a Bungle in the Jungle at this point.
Because the PS5 (apart from the new "slim" one), should have the same hardware pretty much 99% of the time (drives may matter?).
It does seem like players on not stellar internet are in fact degrading not only the experiences of players online- but also their visuals.
This is all so funny.
Frame rate is stable 59-60 on most stages, except Dojo where I experience weird hiccups regardless of settings. Especially if my opponent and I trigger Heat.
Render latency is around 15ms, jumping to 45ms from time to time. I can't figure that one out as it doesn't impact the frame rate.
The game is significantly stable for offline play than online.
One more thing I noticed recently is the game feels sluggish. When I check my replays my opponent are always 9-14 frames ahead of me with inputs. Even when I hold a button, their input log is around that time frame.
The frames in replays do not always seem "in sync" like you would expect.
I get the feeling that after each patch- the game's stability is getting worse online.
