Yeah, I've noticed that overclocking hasn't been so popular today like it was back in the day. I've overclocked since I did the pencil mod on my AMD chip. AMD sold the cheaper chips with disabled bridges, but they were just physically cut. So you could add super glue to the holes and just make a lead bridge with pencil! LOL full fledged AMD power unlocked with much cheaper price :) Oh the good ole days o/

a 7800x3D is all ya need and well this asus board I rather not test the warranty so I OC my ram to 6000mhz instead.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I would OC a modern chip. If I build a new setup most definitely it will be around the 3d chip and radeon for gpu. Full AMD next setup will be.

there really isnt much point as they are pretty well built optimized I will say caution of asus boards as they are overvolting out of the box (1.4v) I had to bios update my x670e-f so it would not go over cause those are the boards known for blowing up the 7800X3D chips (it was cheap and they had updates due to the backlash).

I did however avoid more recent updates due to the complaints of optimization issues in their later bios updates. So I'm stable and content as long as things work optimally. I did have to disable hyper threading and legacy as well as C-states as I didn't want voltage issues even with a EVGA 1300W gold.

A lot of looking into advanced research and looking at similar issues, and I had to ask no questions to get things working smoothly. But this is my second PC build. my last build I made the mistake of doing quad channel and had microstutters.

So with experience research and trial I'm doing quite well for a seasoned novice

That's great to hear. If you built it your self you'll always learn more and it will make you more of a power user. Just the way your mind starts to look at things. I've gone over several self built setups and generations and they've all taught me something. This current setups is still rocking after 8 years, it's really weird how well it has served me during those years. Your gear sounds the same, keep it neat and tidy and no need to buy another in several years.

This has nothing to do with OP, but I want to let people know that this game is truly not optimized well at all. My CPU,GPU and RAM far surpasses the recommended specs and I'm still running into these issues, even when I manually lower the settings to medium with lower resolution settings. It is not a lie, I just had a match with a paul player on console in Midnight Siege stage, and the game just started dipping frames down to 50 randomly, to which the game blamed my side,by painting my indicator red, causing my opponent to forfeit the match as "no contest.". So right afterwards, I went to the same exact stage in practice mode to find out if it's really my PC or not and of course, there's literally ZERO lag... The game's lag indicators are just flat out broken, especially with crossplay enabled.

Even overclocking the CPU, his motherboard probably can't run RAM faster than DDR3 1600 MHz (perhaps a bit faster with overclocking), but you get my point.

Use the semi-potato mod for that stage. I'd recommend that for OP as well (probably for all stages tho).

9-10 its gonna be a Ancient PSU barely able to push wattage, or someone over clocking a 5 year old CPU, or some other reason that is not being specifically specified.

https://steamcommunity.com/id/Geolynn/posthistory/?q=ram the specs posted are not clear indications of the issue. you have PSU you have ram speed .. 32 gb ram 1800mhz is not the same as 32 gb 6000 mhz.. 32 is just 32 is that ddr4? ddr3? are you OC or under volting the GPU

its not as cut and dry as

is the mobo compatible

is there enough wattage for the hardware.. etc etc

if you are running the game at 1080p mid you should be fine .
if not its not your card and its not your cpu .
then its prob the ram speeds.
it could be the PSU being too low

your opponent wont be dropping the frames to 50 fps..

thats a on your end issue
