Stay grounded so I can grab you (he has grabs that pick you off the ground)
Learn to break every grab ever and avoid grabs so that I can freely abuse your fear of grabs and dish out the actually good damage from 1-2 moves
And lastly, don't forget to rant about it online and show everyone how amazing you are
this is the best you can do against this cancer good luck
I don't get how this guy remained in the game for literal 30 years being broken in the worst way.
In low to high ranks, he's too strong due to nobody knows how to break grip. In very high to highest ranks, he is useless as everyone knows how to do it.
Why to design a character like this is beyond me.
What I've found that works on King is...
+Watch out for Atlas Hammer. Always punish it with best launcher.
+His power crush, the one with the foot, I think is like -10. Jab punish it and take your turn.
+Pressure him with plus frames if you've got a more aggression-based character.
+Watch out for ff n 2, it hurts like hell. I forget how plus it is on hit, but sometimes they go for a 50/50 grab or hop-kick after, if they think you'll duck.
+b1 isn't really an issue, because most of the time I notice King players spacing further. Do duck d/f2,1. D/f1 has an extension, so punish it. It's -10.
+He also has a very slow "snake edge"-like low that launches. Make sure you always low-parry it.
+He has a low sweep that is extremely minus on block, but I barely see King players use it.
+Opening King is the biggest problem. If you see any openings, take your turn and try to pressure King up-close. Most King players don't seem to press much buttons as King's moves are kind of slow so try to bait when you think the King will press and counter-hit them.
+Always press 1 if King's back is near wall and the opponent throws a 1+2. Unless they're doing Shining Wizard (the running variation) of 1+2.
