"Easy to use" is only about the time you need to practice with it or how to understand it.
Of course Xiaoyu is "pretty hard" because of her stance that also makes her OP and obnoxious.
No one denied that xiaoyu has a learning curve, what people are annoyed about is that xiaoyu players never know any other char besides their own and the character being too strong currently.
When you find the 50th tekken god ling in a row who can't punish the most basic moves or break a single throw, you will finally understand what people don't like about this character.
It seems you interpreted this as a normal tierlist which is wrong. It doesn't speak about how strong or good a character is. It's more about how long it takes to get results with a character.
and people lap it up
I didn't interpret it wrong.
I've been watching a lot of tier lists at work because those videos tend to be quite long and it helps pass the time, and trust me, there's waaaaay too many people saying how she's easy to play and all that.
A lot of people actually disregard her learning curve, hence why I said that she finally gets some respect.
I recognize the work they put into their char, but everyone else puts similar work into their chars and on top of that puts tons of work into learning matchups and fundamental tekken.
That's something ling specialists do not have to do at all.
And I think getting good at high level tekken is neccesary with every single char... Everyone except one.
And you can't change my mind since I've already played every single top ranked Ling player in EU.
The cream of the crop so to speak. They're difficult to beat only because ling is difficult to beat, not because they're good.
I mean, he's the 6th easiest character on the list, don't think you can put him higher without changing the top 5.
I meant I would put him in the not so easy category, because IMHO, he is harder to use than Hwoarang for instance.
The list might be the most accurate one so far.
Ah, that, misread it, sorry, my bad there.
I think the reason why he's put where he is because Law is easier to pick up than say Hwoarang. Sure, you can d3,4 with Hwoarang and have some success, but overall, you need to learn way more strings and setups with him than with Law.
Also let's not forget Law has a launching throw and the panic d2,3 ch launcher, which is extremely effective in lower ranks where everyone wants to mash.
He's a professional player who won many many titles. He's not someone like TMM. So generally I trust him and I think his list is pretty alright.
But people misinterpret the crap out of this list and fail to understand that difficulty is far more nuanced than just "this char easy and this char hard".
