Best gamepad for Tekken?
I don't want to buy a fighting stick so what is the best gamepad for Tekken 8? I was thinking about buying XBOX series X gamepad or Playstation 4 Dual Shock 4...

PS4 pad is great for Tekken

PS5 pad sucks, you can tell they didn’t take fighters into consideration when they made it

Fishing Joy con or power gloves are the best controller for tekken.

A USB steering wheel with tilt controls.

Personal preference imo.

I went from using an old ps3 controller because ps4 / 5 just felt clunky. Using a hitbox equivalent now Haute42 T16. Best I’ve ever used. Even tried using an arcade stick for a while. Was too much work playing on left side.

U can get that hitbox for around 80eu. Don’t know the prices for a ps4 controller nowadays

I would avoid the xbox controlers since the dpad placement makes it a bit awkward to reach and they're a bit oversensitive (you'll be wondering why you're jumping instead of blocking lol)
Anything with a good dpad will do.
You can try playing with the keyboard as well, many do.
cheap $10 membrane keyboard with limited anti ghosting keys work better than most of controllers

I've tried many gamepads... and I'm stuck using the ps5 edge because the d-pad feels the most smooth to use and the extra mappable buttons can eliminate stupid mistakes. Now I have 1+2, 3+4. 1+3, 2+4, 1+4 and 2+3 available.
Am I playing better because of this? I doubt it...
But at least I can't blame it for my incompetence

I don't feel like giving 250 euros for a gamepad. Maybe if I had a PS5 but I will probably go with XBOX or PS4 gamepad, since a lot of people are saying they are good. And they say that the regular PS5 gamepad has terrible DPAD for fighting games.

I'm using the a Hori Fighting Commander Octa, specifically the PS4 version. It's honestly an excellent controller. D-Pad is incredibly solid and I find it easy to hit diagonal directions with it. The face buttons are the real star of the show as they are micro switched and they feel absolutely incredible to press. There is actually a Tekken branded pad they released if you want to go that route.

if you want the best of the best, it's going to be a mechanical keyboard or a leverless hitbox.

Adding to this, if you are going to get a PS4 pad, try finding either a USB-C one, or a non-wireless one, the PS4 default cable sucks ass

none of those... a custom made hitbox is the best for input response and gameplay

I was also thinking about some good mechanical keyboard...

As I typed in another thread, I recommend the following

Betop Thorn Shadow
Dual Shock 4
Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma/Tournament Edition
Flydigi Apex 3/Vader 3 Pro/Direwolf 2
SCUF Envision Pro

As someone else said, they really screwed up the d-pad on the DualSense PS5 controller, it was fixed on the DualSense Edge but the DS4 is simply way more cost effective at that point.

+1 for the t16. It's great and didn't really take time at all to adapt coming from controller.
