A Little Fun About Namco and anticheat + Harada lying.
So we all know Namco has an incredibly bad Anticheat, actually let me re-phrase that they have literally NO anticheat at all.

So a few lessons.

I've seen many people come onto these forums and be like "I'm software engineer that works for Nasa and my spare job is on Iron Dome Defence system, my 3yo kid, I already taught him quantum mechanics and how to mathematically bridge that to standard physics, aka M-theory"

^ This is how average forum user wants to sound/appear as.

They then say this (Actually about 70% of posters believe this fact and a lot will state it)

"The game cannot track alt+f4 so what is namco to do :("

Homie, after s3 Tekken 7 introduced an anti alt+f4 patch which actually started penalizing alt+f4ers, it could track AND penalize them. Only problem was, savescumming existed.

Just want to be clear though, no fabricating stuff to sound smart ok? It existed.

T8 has a server based system, unfortunately that server does 0 integrity checks, so if I tell it I'm a max rank via a simple hex editor (aka cheat engine) it will accept that information.

If Tekken 8 had a basic integrity check as well as checked for alt+f4ers as T7 did we'd have a good anticheat system for a start.

Now Harada is an interesting one, he said T7 would have anticheat before the game was even released (same for t8) Man loves to tell you guys what you want to hear.

He is also especially intelligent at manipulating individuals that suffer from dunning-kruger effect.

What about the last time they banned cheaters who picked Lidia before release Avid?

Oh boy this gets worse, I could have had a ton of this comm banned from the game and labeled as a cheater? How?

Well you see, Harada loves to rely on Twitter reports.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Tekken/comments/1be49yd/how_to_tell_your_players_that_your_in_game_report/

Now the problem here is the fact that when Lidia was getting people banned, Harada/Murray ALSO relied on player screenshots, recordings and reports, this means if I fought any of you in T7 and recorded you on Lidia pre-release, you got banned.

What happens though... if I use a hex editor.. to not change my character... but yours instead?

Well I had a discussion about making a Youtube video and showing how incompetent Namco's devs are with a few high level friends by getting prominent streamers and a ton of the comm banned by hex editing you into playing Lidia.

For morale reasons we decided against it, but the point was to force Namco to stop this charade.

So just remember, they will actually ban none cheaters if people understand how to dupe the system.

This is the company you love, give them a lil criticism and point these facts out to them.

Now I understand why you got banned last time.

For discussing how anticheat works?

Aight
What does "for morale reasons" mean?

I mean it is kind of a ♥♥♥♥ move to get a bunch of the community banned to prove that Namco is incompetent and the system they chose to ban people was actually so ♥♥♥♥♥♥, anyone with 1% of cheat Engine Knowledge could have got people banned for lulz.

TL:DR Getting a ton of people banned to prove a point kinda a low hit.

Well he makes a good point though. Plugging and cheating is the number 1 problem of Tekken 8.

It is an amazing game that really sold a lot of copies this time. It is also a game meant to be competitive online, so we should now expect some standards to be met to address these issues after so many years.

It should be the priority of the devs in my opinion, forget about the shop or new modes, just fix plugging and implement credible measures to combat cheating.

it takes a lot for finding a match, everyone is obsessed with wifi vs lan, so most people just decline a good 5 bar fight just because wifi, pc have rampant problems with cheaters and macro players, no dedicated server means anyone can even mess with ur pc since u both connected without filters, a really clear and annoying line up in the top, unpluggers.

no point of playing rank after reaching vanquisher for the achivement at all.

Hmm you raise good points, but what does this have to do with mindlessly consuming skins in the paid shop!?

anticheat doesn't work well in p2p games like tekken. it would impact the performance of the game. look into it if you don't believe me.

You can have a replay but you can't implement a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ command history check, an anti macro abusers system or a or serial rage quitters penalty system checking the logs... Weird, practically all other modern games have one.
I think the main reason is that in Asia rage quitting (cheating is probably on the same Occidental level) is a really rare event, they don't even consider it has become a serious problem ruining the whole online.

Maybe they could have a bot check the replay for inconsistencies after the game (macro users), since it is stored on a server. Any flagged player would be banned or restricted to play with fellow cheats that have been flagged as well.

They hadn't and they have no experience making online game, they thought making an arcade cabinet it's the same that making an online game. The story about anticheats not working well in P2p is just a big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Every Esport game has an anti cheat system: Counterstrike, Lol, rocket league and almost every other game.
The fun fact tekken community organizes Online tournaments with money prizes, without an anticheat...

When they mentioned an Excel file I thought it’s a joke but they really are that incompetent.

Every online fighting game with p2p connection have a solution to rage quitting but they somehow can’t do anything? They need lawyers? What a BS.

Well the fact they are still just talking about bans instead of actually addressing the issues makes me think they just aren't able to do anything about pluggers due to how they coded the network architecture.
