Unpopular Opinion
If someone quits after the first match and doesn't finish the BO3, that's perfectly fine. Nobody is entitled to a rematch, and there are probably irl reasons they had for leaving after one match instead of finishing the full set.

The devs intended Bo3.

Leaving early is fine- but not what Devs intended.

Plugging is not intended and screws over the person who has a winstreak or is winning the match.

Plugging and running is ruining Ranked currently.

I have to assume someone pretty emotionally/mentally stunted if they get upset cause someone didn't rematch them in a video game.

If you don't want to play against humans, the devs gave you options to play offline against bots and stay offline.

Its faster for you to play and you don't get to waste other people's time.

If you go ranked, you play a best of 5. At no point did the game MAKE you play a best of 3 of best of 5s. It is up to the player if he goes after 1 match and his decision is fine either way.
Personally, if I win a match I wait till my opponent picks rematch or leave and I roll with it. If I lose the first match I may leave depending on ranks involved, what char is being played and just how I feel about going again.

yes I agree people have real life reasons to leave, but I can't believe that 70% of people that I face can't rematch because of irl reasons

I sure do play the Bo3 all the time, unless its a Paul or a King, big waste of time even tho dying takes around 3 hits from them :D

I'll never plug but I have had reasons to abandon the second game.

If someone quits after 1 fight on a perfectly stable connection to someone close to their skill level then they can eat a fat one if you ask me. Stop justifying ♥♥♥♥♥ behavior.

Meh, personally I have no issue with people deciding to ditch before the games are done.

I always rematch no matter what, because if the opponent has destroyed me, a rematch is a good chance to get another replay for reference and try to adjust; and if I somehow managed to beat the opponent at first, I wanna run it again to prove it wasn't luck.

But if an opponent leaves after destroying me, I understand them leaving. they might not expect to get anything of value in a rematch.
And if somebody I defeated decides to ditch, I'm also ok with it, they might be having a bad day... after all, that's the only possible explanation for them managing to lose against someone as trash in the game as me.

I’m surprised how often people don’t rematch. No rematch is seen quite badly in SF6. It’s like bad etiquette or being a chicken.
Sure, nobody is obligated to do a full set and there are legit reasons to not complete it but if more people refuse a rematch the general experience for a lot of people is simply worse.
Some may even go back to SF6 because it feels better there.
I think it really depends on the situation, its definitely a little too egotistical to expect someone to rematch when they get absolutely stomped and get mad when theres no rematch, even i can say as someone whos been annoyed by that it;s more mentally annoying because id just like easy points in the end whether we claim its sportsmanlike or not. As someone in orange ranks I almost always have matches where I feel comfortable doing full sets either because it was close to either side or im not getting stomped hard enough to warrant risking two point losses. It all just comes down to context, i think by far the most loser thing to do to me is to leave during the second game in a set because you cancelled out the points lost in the first match, thats way too much of a loser play as that rematch would usually be fairly close and fair. Just keep egos in check and recognize when you want a fair rematch and when you want free points

while i agree you aren't obligated to and i'm not entitled to a rematch, you're a whole ♥♥♥♥♥ if you win and quit imo lol

Straight up if you whine that someone left after playing one full match you are a ♥♥♥♥♥. They have every right to play a match and leave. Some people don't like being figured out and that's fine if your sitting there seething that someone left after playing a full match against you there is something wrong with you.
