for me the problem isnt the cosmetics, it's the fact the game only have 1 month since launch and we are getting "bp/dlc" characters, eddy should be a free update, developers should release paid extra stuff after 6 months from launch, something that really feels like "guys we want to keep the game fresh so we releasing this new content we been working on" not ripping stuff off from the original game and selling it as mod.
also, not being able to choose our main character in the menu but having to watch the store AD daily "go buy eddie" it's a scummy practice, at least kazuya is a base character everyone owns.
The game is already $70 also they are reselling items that used to already be in the base game
where do people think they had a right to copy designs and sell them or let youtubers advertise stolen Namco property?
Here one sec let me Rip some Namco assets and sell them on patron for a totally different game.. wahst that I hear Sirens..
Ya namco has every right just like if some one made a Patron subscribers only Kratos character for Marduk DLC Sony would rightfully be able to shut them down..
Y'all acting like Reina asset mod was free, the artist linked their patron through the mod using namco property as a way to sell NAMCO PROPERTY to make money..
No you cant do that..
If they gave it away and asked donations unrelated like for artistry or under another name, then yes a gray area is created .. But patron means Namco Properties being used for a business without permission.
Does Patreon count as income?
Yes — or at the very least, you need to account for Patreon earnings on your tax return.
So yes Namco did the right thing as a business regardless what the kids think is cool or not.
We don't have a RIGHT to do that.
But gaming companies usually allow it. You can make content using copyrighted assets and it's not a problem unless the company decides it's a problem.
For example people sell tons of gaming fan art and porn and companies almost never take any action, probably because any fans content featuring their characters is free advertising for their games.
Did they obtain written permission or licencing rights to publicly stream the game?
Because I'm pretty sure they didn't.
