Gaming Monitor needed?
Hello. I have the Recommended CPU for the game, but was curious if having no gaming monitor matters? Does the game make use of better Hz monitors? I have a crappy smart TV, and was interested in buying the game. Thank you.

What matters is "Gray to Gray" response time. Using a high refresh rate just makes you drop your inputs. You aren't seeing any more frames at high HZ cause the game is build around 60hz, 60 tics per second. It's better it minimise input lag through hardware and driver settings over high refresh rate. High refresh HZ only comes handy if you plan to break the game through 120fps mods, which will affect the person you are playing with too. That's very low in terms of morality and respect though. I wouldn't do it online against other people, it's a competitive game and I consider that to be cheating.

the fps in-game can be uncapped using a 3rd party tool. If you want a fluid gameplay play on pc and get yourself a high refresh rate 1440p monitor atleast 165hz.

Not true, regular TVs have waaay more input lag. If you want to enjoy this game at a high level, you'll want to have a display with a low input response. Generally you get those from monitors with higher Hz, but the game also won't display more than 60 image per seconds anyway, so that part is not quite as important.

Okay, thank you. Yeah, figured there might be something with the input lag at least. It's a holiday weekend, so I'll take a look at some sales on Best Buy.

You can play on TV. If it support 120Hz, it would be better than most 60Hz gaming monitor.

High Hz gaming monitor/TV gets advantage in 60fps fighting games.

A) If you turn off VSync, you earn about 1-2 frame (16-32ms) for input/display lag.

B) Then if you have high Hz monitor (and proper Win) setting, you get more advantage, but not so significant. Note, A) seeting needs to be done.
For 60Hz, avarage delay is half frame of 1fps in 60Hz (16ms), which is 8ms
For 120Hz, avarage delay would be about 4ms (so you would lean about 4ms)
For 240Hz, avarage delay would be about 2ms

But there is other benefit on highter Hz monitor. Screen tearing would be less obious. It's more easy to see on screen in A) setting.

I playing on 50" Samsung QLED Q60T, its coust around 300$ for me. 4K HDR Quantum Dot. And most importantly this TV have very good input lag like usual monitor 8ms. If you want zero input lag take OLED TV but price will be big

I have a 165hz 1440p Ultrawide and had controller input lag so I had to lock the game to 60FPS in mangohud(linux overlay) and then it was fine. So basically any 60hz screen should be plenty.
Super helpful guys, thank you! :)
Oled monitor or tv is best, responsetime matters. Uncapping tekken framerate is bs, it will not influence response time.
If I was you, I would buy LG 27GS95QE-B. It is 2k Oled, and you literally wont be able to have crazy performance in other games if you choose 4k. So 2k is the sweet spot for me
