Help with 1+2, 3+4 or whatever double inputs
The timing seems impossible, when I tried it 10 times, it only came out once. I googled and all I got was button buffering and binding 1+2 with a controller button. So A. I want to do the move itself, B. I'm using a keyboard. I understand how it would most likely come down to a cope with it situation, but any of yall got any tips? This is my first tekken game and I am HELLA CONFUSED.

It's almost impossible. Only elite players with years of experience manage to do double input moves.

Oh gee, I hope you never need to do 1+2+3+4, because you need to be an octopus to hit that simultaniously.

But jokes at your expense aside, just bind 1+2 and 3+4 on single buttons, you can also rebind and on keyboard. Not just the shortcuts, but set any keys you wanna use.

I bind 1+2 to 'O' and 3+4 to 'L', next to my 1,2 and 3,4 respectively

Playing on controller or fighter stick because execution is much easier on the second one so you might try to get your fingers on it

I'm not sure if that was a question or a strange out of place statement, but if the former:

I play on keyboard, and that's how I like it. Controllers suck, and fight sticks are expensive and not exactly sold at my local computer shop.

I wanna make a custom leverless controller tho, so I can go to local offline meetups

I don't think it's particularly hard to press 2 buttons at the same time on keyboard, unless you're using a bad keyboard that has problems with ghosting. You can use binds for combinations of buttons if you're having trouble though.

This is cap. An arcade stick won't make you better at fighting games.

Controller deosn't suck at all.
They have their pros and cons like keyboards.
I think the issue is tied to your keyboard, you should try a different one.

maybe the quality of your keyboard is not good enough to have two inputs at the same time readed correctly or its you missing the inputs.

just bind a key to 1+2 and another to 3+4 and use that instead.

What issue?! Is everyone confusing me with OP? Or did someone rewrite the entire English language while I wasnt paying attention?

Tekken has uniquely tight timing for double input. Like just frame tight.
Even pro players bind 1+2 on their sticks as otherwise it’s too inconsistent to do it manually.

No other fighting game does it and I personally really don’t like it but it is what it is.

Nothing wrong with using binds imo.
If playing with the keyboard I have, my inputs/binds are:
U=1 I=2 J=3 K=4 O=1+2 L=3+4 P=2+3 ;=1+4
and the standard WASD layout for movement (can re-map W to space bar for hitbox style layout.)

Timing can be a bit tricky even with hitbox/arcade/fightpads as well for manual to get used to; but with keyboards as others have mentioned anti-ghosting can be a factor if your keyboard doesn't have something like N-Key rollover where you can only press up to a certain amount of keys at once too, so check to make sure your keyboard is able to do more than 6-ish keys at once, maybe check it's input latency if possible/plugging it into a different port on the PC too.

On controller, people use claw grip to hit multiple buttons for Tekken. Image search for 'tekken claw grip'.

I'm on stick and hitbox, where the box is in my lap or on a table, and I can use my thumb and all my fingers. As you can do this on keyboard too... pressing two buttons at once is clearly very doable.

Actually it works fine in all cases but 1+2 throw breaks where you have to get almost frame perfect.

For such occasions just bind 1+2 on convinient button. Even space if you want it only to break throws.

It may seem easier for other combinations but it’s not really. Try doing 1+2+3+4 for KI charge using 4 separate buttons without binding and buffering to see how difficult it is to press two or more buttons together.

I’m salty about this since Tekken 2. No other fighting game does it. I think this is one game where a gamepad with shoulder buttons makes the most sense.
I think almost all pros have at least 1+2 mapped for throw breaks.

Wait, so binding the combinations with a single button seems to be good for me. But I don't see the option in Button Mapping -> Keyboard Settings 1. There's only X, Y, A,B individually. Am I missing something??
