But jokes at your expense aside, just bind 1+2 and 3+4 on single buttons, you can also rebind and on keyboard. Not just the shortcuts, but set any keys you wanna use.
I bind 1+2 to 'O' and 3+4 to 'L', next to my 1,2 and 3,4 respectively
I play on keyboard, and that's how I like it. Controllers suck, and fight sticks are expensive and not exactly sold at my local computer shop.
I wanna make a custom leverless controller tho, so I can go to local offline meetups
This is cap. An arcade stick won't make you better at fighting games.
Controller deosn't suck at all.
They have their pros and cons like keyboards.
I think the issue is tied to your keyboard, you should try a different one.
just bind a key to 1+2 and another to 3+4 and use that instead.
Even pro players bind 1+2 on their sticks as otherwise it’s too inconsistent to do it manually.
No other fighting game does it and I personally really don’t like it but it is what it is.
If playing with the keyboard I have, my inputs/binds are:
Timing can be a bit tricky even with hitbox/arcade/fightpads as well for manual to get used to; but with keyboards as others have mentioned anti-ghosting can be a factor if your keyboard doesn't have something like N-Key rollover where you can only press up to a certain amount of keys at once too, so check to make sure your keyboard is able to do more than 6-ish keys at once, maybe check it's input latency if possible/plugging it into a different port on the PC too.
On controller, people use claw grip to hit multiple buttons for Tekken. Image search for 'tekken claw grip'.
I'm on stick and hitbox, where the box is in my lap or on a table, and I can use my thumb and all my fingers. As you can do this on keyboard too... pressing two buttons at once is clearly very doable.
For such occasions just bind 1+2 on convinient button. Even space if you want it only to break throws.
It may seem easier for other combinations but it’s not really. Try doing 1+2+3+4 for KI charge using 4 separate buttons without binding and buffering to see how difficult it is to press two or more buttons together.
I’m salty about this since Tekken 2. No other fighting game does it. I think this is one game where a gamepad with shoulder buttons makes the most sense.
I think almost all pros have at least 1+2 mapped for throw breaks.
